A gerund is when a verb ending in -ing is used as a noun. In the first two sentences Working out and Playing are both used as the subject of the sentence. This makes them nouns. "Skipping" and "cooking" are also used as nouns in the sentences.

Describe the opening scene of star ducks ?
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

The first scene of Bill Brown's Star Ducks shows us The Times news reporter by the name of Ward Rafferty who gets a call to show up at the farm of the Alsop family to investigate what happened there and write about it. He was told there was an air crash but it turned out something more mysterious happened. He finds a UFO crashed behind the farm and starts investigating about it.

The story of Star Ducks is an interesting sci fi story about aliens coming to Earth and their contact with humans.

Read the passage from Of the Wisdom of the Ancients.
murzikaleks [220]
<span>Bacon lists Cupid’s attributes in order to compare them to the features of the atom.
Just like Cupid, atoms too are primary seeds that make up the world, and just like Cupid, they are naked, because they are not merged into a compound, but rather remain their "innocent" selves. He doesn't use this comparison to prove that Cupid is real (nobody can do that), or to prove he is a child (he is often portrayed as one), or to disprove the existence of atoms (it has been proven already they exist).

Explain in your own words the purpose of Puritan ministers preaching sermons called 'jeremiads' that vehemently denounced sinner
tankabanditka [31]
Their purpose was to scare people into submission. The sermons would usually be about burning in hell for sins and describing the torture in detail and people would be scared of this and remain puritan in their belief and remain faithful to the church and to god. The most famous one is "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" by Jonathan Edwards that is still read by many today.
