The correct answers are: language, religion and customs.

In this excerpt from “Mericans" by Sandra Cisneros we can see many elements of cultural heritage.

The mixture of English and Spanish as in "la ofrenda box" and "the altar to La Divina Providencia" shows how Mexicans still maintaing their own language.

The dropping of money before the altar, lighting of candles and the genuflecting present their devotion to their Christian Religion.

And her kissing her thumb after the blessing expresses a custom within the Chrisitan Religion as well.

What is intended in "Revolutionary Tea" by singing about King George III as an "island queen?" to make his actions seem unnatura
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

C). To mock him as weak.

Explanation:

The purpose behind singing about King George III as the 'island queen' in 'Revolutionary Tea' is that the poet is willing 'to mock at his cruelty of putting 'three-penny' tax on the daily use items like 'tea' despite being rich and powerful('full of gold'). The poet is ridiculing the hypocrisy and brutality of the king through the image of the island queen who forces 'her own daughter'(the citizens) to pay the tax and orders her to 'bring home the tax.' Thus, option C is the correct answer.

This part of the excerpt shows that the speaker is experiencing impulses of a newborn who is just starting to be aware of his senses.

Part II

"I knew, and could distinguish, nothing."

This reflects innocence and lack of experience or knowledge.

Part III

"Sometimes I wished to express my sensations in my own mode, but the uncouth and inarticulate sounds which broke from me frightened me into silence again.'

This mirrors a baby's innocence and puerile attempt to express feelings.

AysviL [449]

Answer: The figurative language of simile and sensory imagery have been used in the poem "Simile" by N. Scott Momaday.

Simile is a figure of speech that involves comparison in order to make the description more vivid. A simile has been used in the line "now we are as the deer..". The poet compares human beings to deer who walk in a single line with heads high and eyes watchful.

Sensory imagery has been used in the line "in whose limbs there is latent flight". This means that the speaker and his audience is ready to flee at the smallest possible sign of imminent danger or threat.
