Give an example of true love and false love in Romeo and Juliet. What character exemplified true love and how? What character ex
Slav-nsk [51]
Rosaline exemplifies false love because she is only briefly mentioned and never shown, and while Romeo made claims that he loved her, she's forgotten almost immediately after Juliet makes an appearance. Juliet is an example of true love, because Romeo devoted his heart and ultimately his life to her. He even planned to denounce his last name if it meant they could be together

What causes Daisy to become frightened, withdraw from the encounter, and lose any
lukranit [14]

Answer:

What prompted this reaction in Daisy was that she realized Tom's words, and that she could never leave her husband for Gatsby.

Explanation:

Daisy had a great love for Gatsby but the fact that Tom had singled him out as a common bootlegger made her realize the consequences this would bring.

She was actually scared by those words which caused her to stay with Tom even though she didn't love him.

All this happens in the discussion that Tom and Gatsby have where they fight for the love of Daisy, and that's where Tom reveals about the investigation he made about Gatsby and his drugstores, which leaves Daisy terrified, and realizes that Gatbsy couldn't win the confrontation.

One evening, me and my friend Jack were playing outside. We decided a friendly game of football would be fun. We were just tossing and throwing the ball to each other, like normal boys would do.

All of a sudden, Jack started crying. I went up to him in desperation, as I noticed that he had broken his arm! He ran into the neighbor's car, and he hit his arm so hard on the side mirror, that it broke! We had to admit him into the hospital!

After a long time in the emergency room, Jack was free to go to his house. This had to be the scariest moment for me. I'm going to be taking a little break from football. I hope this never happens again...

Which statement best explains the historical contradiction about women that Woolf describes?
yuradex [85]

Answer: b.) Women filled the pages of poetry but earned little attention in history books.

Woolf was one of the most significant figures in early feminism. One of the reasons why this was the case was that Woolf noticed the secondary place that women had in society, and in particular, in writing. She argued that women were only recognized in areas that were considered "feminine," such as poetry. However, their contributions were unrecognized or altogether forgotten in other areas, such as when writing history books.
