It uses it as an epic arc in which Garrison is likened to a Medieval White Knight that battles “onward with a martyr's zeal” in order to liberate Africans from “Oppression's iron hand”. He is depicted as “standing fearless” to “the tyrant's rod” and his words are compared to a “flash of kindred swords!”. And then speaks of his enemies as having a “demon breath”, a clear reference to the evil dragon of Western Judeo-Christian culture (Satan).

The first stanza shows him as a valiant warrior in his prime. The second describes him as the warrior who has “chosen” the good fight and is filled with the “strength of God” (a clear reference to Samson). In the third stanza the narrator reveals his feelings of brotherly love for this “warrior at the shine and flash of kindred swords” using metaphor to say that he was part of an army of liberation of African slaves. He then describes his rhetorical combat against his ideological enemies, further using the imagery of “steeled” swords that “rend the chains of slaves apart” on the fourth stanza.  The dragon reference takes place in the fifth one and finally, in the sixth stanza, the arc is closed as the white knight is shown as a crusader that despite the enemies “daggers” (metaphor for slander) fights on despite the threat of “martyrdom” and goes “onward with martyr’s zeal”. In this manner, Garrison is shown as a moral warrior that dedicated his entire life to the liberation of African slaves until his death.

Read the poems. A haiku by Buson and an excerpt from "Frost at Midnight" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Which statement best descri
brilliants [131]

Answer:

A). The haiku shares a distinct event in nature, while the romantic poem relays a personal experience with nature.

Explanation:

Haiku illustrates a short Japanese poem consisting of merely three phrases that usually contains a recurring reference to nature or surroundings that is inspiring. While Coleridge in "Frost at Midnight" demonstrates a personal experience with nature. In his poem(lines 52-59), he describes his son wandering the natural imagery that assists him to find a meaning that nature always mirrors the truth as describes nature as a preacher of significant lessons of life. The other options seem incorrect as in option B, the first phrase is correct but Coleridge has written this poem in blank verse that is free of metrical fardels while the other  two options reflect an inappropriate claim.

In acts 1 and 2 of Julius Caesar, with whom is Brutus most in conflict?
enyata [817]

In acts 1 and 2 of Julius Caesar, Brutus is in conflict with himself.

In the soliloquy in Act 2 Scene 1 in the tragedy of Julius Caesar explains Brutus' involvement in the assassination plot against Ceasar as he thinks about the consequences if Caesar is crowned. He compares the crowning procedure of Caesar to that of the hatching of a serpent from the egg. He assumes that when Caesar would become the king of Rome he will show his cruel nature and bring destruction to the people of Rome. Hence, Brutus joins the conspiracy against Caesar in order to prevent Rome from the ambitious nature of Caesar in the coming future.

What is one reason that an author may choose to relate events in memoir form? to show dialogue using speech bubbles to illustrat
Sergio039 [100]

The correct answer is D. To tell significant stories from one’s life

Explanation:

A memoir refers to a type of bibliographical text written to describe one or more events/memories that had an impact on the author's life. Additionally, memoirs rely mainly on written words rather than on images or drawings and use narrative writing as well as techniques related to the narrative mode. Due to this, memoirs are appropriate if the author wants to tell the audience about important moments or stories from his/her life using text, thus, one reason authors might choose the memoir form is "to tell significant stories from one’s life".
