Answer:

a. The haiku shares a distinct event in nature, while the romantic poem relays a personal experience with nature.

Explanation:

Yosa Buson was a haiku poet and also a painter from the Edo period. His haiku accentuates visual imagery. Haiku is a Japenese form of 3 line poem. A haiku usually tells about nature or natural phenomenon. Whereas, in the poem, Frost at Midnight by Samuel Taylor Coleridge the description of nature is based upon the experience of the poet.

For example :

A Haiku by Buson "Blown from the west"

"Blown from the west,

fallen leaves gather

 in the east."

In this haiku, the poet describes the natural phenomenon.

An excerpt from Frost at Midnight by Samuel Taylor Coleridge

"The Frost performs its secret ministry,

Unhelped by any wind. The owlet's cry

Came loud—and hark, again! loud as before."

The poet is describing the nature that he has experienced.

Answer:

A). The haiku shares a distinct event in nature, while the romantic poem relays a personal experience with nature.

Explanation:

Haiku illustrates a short Japanese poem consisting of merely three phrases that usually contains a recurring reference to nature or surroundings that is inspiring. While Coleridge in "Frost at Midnight" demonstrates a personal experience with nature. In his poem(lines 52-59), he describes his son wandering the natural imagery that assists him to find a meaning that nature always mirrors the truth as describes nature as a preacher of significant lessons of life. The other options seem incorrect as in option B, the first phrase is correct but Coleridge has written this poem in blank verse that is free of metrical fardels while the other two options reflect an inappropriate claim.

galina1969 [7]
Orson Welles chose this area in New Jersey as the setting for The War of the Worlds. This was the area the Martians were said to have landed.

For this reason, the residents of Bergen County, New Jersey, were particularly vulnerable to panic upon hearing the broadcast.

Read the passage.
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

The correct answer is B.

Explanation:

The most likely meaning of metaphor in this sentence is that Amit's thoughts are confused and contradictory.

A Metaphor is the use of two contradictory words or ideas for the sake or purpose of emphasis. Examples are; all the world is a stage, John is a lion in the fields, Mary is a Chameleon, etc.

From the passage, the "river and the waves crashing" is metaphorical as it depicts Amit's feeling of confusion and disorder. Amit's wished Tamar never told him his secret as his thoughts are now in a state of clash and worry.

Explanation:

People who have a positive work ethic embody certain principles such as the right attitude and approach towards the job, respect for other people, lively communication, reliability, constant productivity, a self disciplined character and the ability to cooperate with their collegues. Since Kevin has a positive attitude, works constantly and manages to help his collegues after he has finished his tasks, one could easily say that he has strong skills in D. positive work ethic.
