The answers are both B. Historical fiction is a genre that is rooted in the early 19th century as part of the Romantic movement, but it was in the mid-19th century under literary realism that it would produce such works as Tolstoy's War and Peace and Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities. Realism contribution to historical fiction is mostly being able to talk about legendary things and people, such as Napoleon, as banal things, and in that way present them in a relatively fresh light.
