Even though you do not provide the underlined part of the quotation from paragraph 10, the answer to this question is quite easy to pinpoint due to advanced knowledge of the English language.

The best sentence is the one which offers a syntactic inversion, because it is the one that produces a more emphatic result. And being that the main purpose of inversions, it seems quite an obvious pick.

So, the final answer for this question is:

B) ‘seldom does a sight more grand and more striking meet a person’s eyes, as when he sees the Overland train slowing…’

This sentence provides more emphasis as well as a better and clearer grammatical construction.

NEED ANSWER ASAP!!! Compare the written description of the Boston Massacre to the image depicting this historical event. Which d
Mademuasel [1]

Both the painting and the written description depict a scene where both sides of the conflict seem completely confused as to the real reason for what it turned out to be a deadly confrontation.

The written account elaborates somewhat methodically the actions that led, step by step to the escalation of what originally was nothing but an argument between a soldier or sentry and a robe maker. The perennial curiosity of the nearby masses and the somewhat well established intransigence of law enforcement individuals clashed drastically and led to a tragic result that could've been easily avoided if cooler heads had prevailed. The depiction of the man in charge of the soldiers as a man not fit for the job seems to confirm the fact that a more disciplined superior would've been able to restrain his forces until the situation or issue at stake was clarified among the quarreling parties.

Finally, the painting only depicts the firing of the lined up soldiers against a revolting crowd on the other side but provides no clues as to what was the reason that led to the moment being depicted when the bayonets are being fired at short range in a firing squad like manner.

Did you know Hong Kong is one of the world's most _______ cities?
zhuklara [117]

Answer:

B. Populous

Explanation:

The best option that completes this sentence is the word 'populous'.

Did you know Hong Kong is one of the world's most populous cities?

To complete this sentence we needed a word that modifies the noun 'cities', so we needed an adjective.

Option A is wrong because it is misspelled.

Option C is wrong because it is a noun. To put two nouns together doesn't make any sense to the information of the sentence.

Option B is correct.

Populous (adjective) - full of residents or inhabitants, as a region; heavily populated. This word is completely suitable for our sentence as it finishes its complete thought.

I hope it helped you :)
