vredina [299]

Irving Washington's short story is about the guests of a host who are going to spend the night in host's home. They are going to spend the night at different rooms and one of the rooms is haunted as host indicates it. The narrator tells the story from this room he has meant for. There is a picture which fills him with the horror of feelings and antipathy. When it's revealed that this narrator has seen the ghost, he tells the story of this picture and first the gentlemen make the fun out of it. However, later it is unraveled by host that the picture indeed was haunted. Options B and C describes narrator's feelings in the room. Option A is the description of the night at breakfast. The correct answer is D when the narrator tells the story and everybody laughs.

How does Abuelito’s aging affect the speaker?
Sloan [31]

Answer:

A. It makes the speaker question what type of person Abuelito has become.

Explanation:

In the story "Abuelito Who," we learn about a girl who reflects on her aging grandfather, who she calls "abuelito" (Spanish for "grandfather"). She describes to us how Abuelito has aged, and how this has made him different. In fact, it leads her to reflect on what kind of person he has become. Throughout the story, we learn that Abuelito shows typical signs of aging, such as the fact that he sleeps a lot and is rarely very involved in activities.

How might survivors in a story react to the end of civilization? Check any that apply.
scZoUnD [109]

well viewing it from a point where a writer would put themselves in that situation I would say:

  1. working together
  2. creating their own rules
  3. prioritizing survival

the reason I wouldn't say create a safe world for their children is because the initial shock would probably make instincts kick in and make them focus on their survival first.

In chapter 7, why does Huck wish Tom Sawyer was with him as he fakes his own death?
Klio2033 [76]
The answer is "<span>He thinks Tom would have better tools for creating the fake death scene"

Huck lacks the sense of self. He often questions his identity. He feels comfortable when Tom is around. Tom is a very creative person and he can imagine various kind of stories in his head. I think Huck finds comfort in Tom's presence. He would often ask himself if Tom would do this or do that.</span>

Imagine you have to write a blurb for a poetry book containing nature poems that include Kipling's The Way Through the Woods. Ke
Bingel [31]

Answer:

THEY shut the road through the woods

Seventy years ago.

Weather and rain have undone it again,

And now you would never know

There was once a road through the woods

Before they planted the trees.

It is underneath the coppice and heath,

And the thin anemones.

Only the keeper sees

That, where the ring-dove broods,

And the badgers roll at ease,

There was once a road through the woods.

Yet, if you enter the woods

Of a summer evening late,

When the night-air cools on the trout-ringed pools

Where the otter whistles his mate,

(They fear not men in the woods,

Because they see so few.)

You will hear the beat of a horse's feet,

And the swish of a skirt in the dew,

Steadily cantering through

The misty solitudes,

As though they perfectly knew

The old lost road through the woods.

But there is no road through the woods.
