Answer:

Numbers are 1050, 1200, 2550, 5100.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the four numbers are a, b, c, d.

Since second exceeds the first by 1/7 of the first.

b = a + (a/7) = 8a/7

Third exceeds the sum of first two by 200.

c = a + b + 300 = a + (8a/7) + 300 = (15a/7) + 300

Fourth exceeds the sum of the first three by 300

d = a + b + c + 300 = a + (8a/7) + (15a/7) + 300 + 300 = a + (23a/7) + 600

d = (30a/7)+600

And sum of four numbers is 9900

a + b + c + d = 9900--------(1)

By putting the values of b, c, d in the equation (1)

a + (8a/7) + (15a/7) + 300 + (30a/7) + 600 = 9900

a + (8a/7) + (15a/7) + (30a/7) = 9900 - 300 - 600 = 9000

a + [(8a + 15a + 30a)/7] = 9000

a + (53a/7) = 9000

60a/7 = 9000

a = 9000×7/60 = 1050

Now we put the values of a and get the numbers

b = 8a/7 = 8×1050/7 = 8×150 = 1200

c = (15a/7) + 300 = (15×1050)/7 + 300 = 15×150 + 300 = 2250 + 300 = 2550

and finally from equation 1

1050 + 1200 + 2550 + d = 9900

d + 4800 = 9900

d = 9900 - 4800 = 5100

Therefore the numbers are 1050, 1200, 2550 & 5100.

Answer:

1050, 1200, 2550 and  5100.

Step-by-step explanation:

If the first number is x then the second is  x + 1/7x.

The third =  x + x + 1/7x + 300 and the fourth = x + x + 1/7x + x + x + 1/7x+ 300 + 300.

So our equation is:-

8x +  4 * 1/7x  + 900 = 9900

60/7 = 9000

60x = 7*9000

x = 1050.

Therefore the 4 numbers are 1050,  *1/7*1050 = 1200, 2550 and  5100.

A video game maker claims that number of glitches in code for their
svet-max [94.6K]

Answer:

The major condition that needs to be satisfied before a t-test is performed that the question satisfies easily is the use of random sampling to obtain sample data.

Step-by-step explanation:

The major conditions necessary to conduct a t-test about a mean include;

- The sample extracted from the population must be extracted using random sampling. That is, the sample must be a random sample of the population.

- The sampling distribution must be normal or approximately normal. This is achievable when the population distribution is normal or approximately normal.

- Each observation in the sample data must have an independent outcome. That is, the outcome/result of each sub-data mustn't depend on one another.

Of the three conditions that need to be satisfied before the conduction of a t-test, the first condition about using a random sampling technique is evidently satisfied.

It is stated in the question that 'A private investigator hired by a competitor takes a random sample of 47 games and tries to determine if there are more than 7 glitches per game'.

Hope this Helps!!!

Part A: During what interval(s) of the domain is the water balloon's height increasing?
Advocard [28]

Answer:

The answer is below

Step-by-step explanation:

The linear model represents the height, f(x), of a water balloon thrown off the roof of a building over time, x, measured in seconds: A linear model with ordered pairs at 0, 60 and 2, 75 and 4, 75 and 6, 40 and 8, 20 and 10, 0 and 12, 0 and 14, 0. The x axis is labeled Time in seconds, and the y axis is labeled Height in feet. Part A: During what interval(s) of the domain is the water balloon's height increasing? (2 points) Part B: During what interval(s) of the domain is the water balloon's height staying the same? (2 points) Part C: During what interval(s) of the domain is the water balloon's height decreasing the fastest? Use complete sentences to support your answer. (3 points) Part D: Use the constraints of the real-world situation to predict the height of the water balloon at 16 seconds.

Answer:

Part A: During what interval(s) of the domain is the water balloon's height increasing?

Between 0 and 2 seconds, the height of the balloon increases from 60 feet to 75 feet

Part B: During what interval(s) of the domain is the water balloon's height staying the same?

Between 2 and 4 seconds, the height remains the same at 75 feet. Also from 10 seconds the height of the balloon is at 0 feet

Part C: During what interval(s) of the domain is the water balloon's height decreasing the fastest?

Between 4 and 6 seconds, the height of the balloon decreases from 75 feet to 40 feet (i.e. -17.5 ft/s)

Between 6 and 8 seconds, the height of the balloon decreases from 40 feet to 20 feet (i.e. -10 ft/s)

Between 8 and 10 seconds, the height of the balloon decreases from 20 feet to 0 feet (i.e. -10 ft/s)

Hence it decreases fastest from 4 to 6 seconds

Part D: Use the constraints of the real-world situation to predict the height of the water balloon at 16 seconds

From 10 seconds, the balloon is at the ground, so it remains at the ground (0 feet) even at 16 seconds

Coordinates, gradient and tangent work (see image).
Ivenika [448]

Answer:

a) P(x,2x^2-5),\ Q(x+h,2(x+h)^2-5)

b) 4x+2h

c) 4x

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the curve

y=2x^2-5

a) If the x-coordinate of P is x, then the y-coordinate is 2x^2-5, so point P has coordinates (x,2x^2-5)

If the x-coordinate of Q is x+h, then the y-coordinate is 2(x+h)^2-5 so point Q has coordinates (x+h,2(x+h)^2-5)

b) The gradient of the secant RQ is

\dfrac{y_Q-y_P}{x_Q-x_P}\\ \\=\dfrac{(2(x+h)^2-5)-(2x^2-5)}{(x+h)-x}\\ \\=\dfrac{2(x+h)^2-5-x^2+5}{x+h-x}\\ \\=\dfrac{2(x+h)^2-2x^2}{h}\\ \\=\dfrac{2x^2+4xh+2h^2-2x^2}{h}\\ \\=\dfrac{4xh+2h^2}{h}\\ \\=4x+2h

c) If h\rightarrow 0, then the gradient 4x+2h\rightarrow 4x

we have f(x)=x^3 which is a cubic function.

and =(x-1)^3+4.

from f(x) and g(x) we know that both are cubic and g(x) has shrink of 1 and up by 4 units in x axis .
