Sitting up straight and blocking out other distractions in order to focus on the message are examples of being attentive.

Explanation: In communication, being attentive is a listening skill that allows the person to pay close attention and stay focused. By being attentive, you can pay attenton to detail and have a easier time understanding the message, whereas being distracted and "half-listening" is not as effective.

So, based on my information, it seem's like that answer could be "<span>Viewers know more about television than those who broadcast it." This may sound weird, but it was clear in the passage that this was the case.
