Read the paragraph from Nick’s personal narrative. Standing alone in my family’s barn, I thought about how much hard work and ti

me my parents had invested—how much hard work and time we had all invested—in maintaining a fully operational farm. I did not remember a time when my clothes had not reeked of manure or my hair had not held fast to brittle pieces of straw. What would happen if my parents had to sell the farm so we could move closer to my grandparents? Just as I was attempting to imagine a life in the city, a sudden commotion erupted and interrupted my thoughts. With animals squawking and dust flying, I scrambled to pinpoint the source of this unexpected intrusion. In seconds that felt more like minutes, I was successful . . . and I could scarcely believe what my eyes were seeing. Nick uses chronological order to relate his narrative. What effect does this have on his arrangement of the plot?

If he didn't use chronological order, the events of the passage would not be in order. Chronological order is arranging things in the order it happened. Its effects on the arrangement of the plot are he is not actually doing, he is thinking all of this

What theme is best revealed by this conflict? Sadness can destroy people. One must mourn before moving on. Many lives are lost t
mr Goodwill [35]

Answer:

One must mourn before moving on.

Explanation:

In the lines, the speaker talks about how they grateful that they still had their lives, but they were grief-stricken that their friends' lives had been lost. Before setting sail, they recognize the dead by raising a cry, three times. The best theme choice is that one must mourn before moving on. The ships do not leave port until they have mourned and saluted the lives of their friends who were lost. The other options aren't correct. There is no indicated that sadness destroyed anyone. Even though the speaker talks about the lives lost, he does not speak of them as being lost too soon. The last option is also not correct as there is no mention of lost souls.
