In this excerpt from the play The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus, the line that provides evidence that Faustus's human soul is predisposed to shun evil is the second one:
But, Mephistophilis, My blood congeals,
and I can write no more.
This line, as Marlowe uses blood as a symbol for the character of Faustus's soul, shows the reader his intention to avoid evil, but he feels he can't because it "<em>congeals</em>".
Frankenstein, also known as The Modern Prometheus, written by Mary Shelley and published in 1818 for its first edition, tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a scientist who creates a creature conscious creature, going against all kinds of scientific principles.
When we try to understand vocabulary, in whatever document, we need to use the context and also clue words to gather the meaning of unknown words. In this case, the sentence is talking about a sense of guilt, of something done wrong. It also talks about forgiveness, which is being reflected on given the situation spoken about. Given this, exculpation has to do with being forgiven, or not being found guilty about something. This is why the correct answer is A, acquitted. Both words mean the same thing; being not found guilty, or being exhonerated of guilt for something done.
This reminds me of the squiggles and drawings and wind
The above lines from Antigone by Sophocles reflects the character of Creon and his obsession with civil law.
Creon is the character in Antigone by Sophocles which is an archetypal character. The character which reflects the most typical of a kind of person or quality is known as an archetypal character. Creon is the king of Thebes who is arrogant and who never turns back. Also, he is obsessed with the civil laws and cannot bear anyone disobeying it. He is stubborn, full of pride and only believes in his words and decisions. Though he starts to realize the correct things something keeps him back every time.
