Answer:

The play within a play scene of "Hamlet" is a theatrical device employed by dramatists to highlight the various issues plaguing the society. It is also perfectly achieved in "Hamlet".

Explanation:

William Shakespeare was one of the most famous writers and playwrights of the literary world. He brought forth the golden age of the literature, and the Elizabethan society that he lived in played a huge part in all of his works. Act III of "Hamlet" shows the young prince Hamlet working on how to get the truth about his father's death. So, he devised a play that will depict a king murdered by his own blood relative, and through this the young prince will come to know the result he was looking for based on the reaction of particularly his uncle Claudius. Shakespeare employs this technique of 'a-play-within-a-play' to show how various these that are evident during those times are showcased or relayed to the people. Elizabethan plays act as the medium to share or pass on information about various social issues.

Read these lines from "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll" and answer the question.
harkovskaia [24]
I'm kind of confused as to what is being asked.... but this is my best answer.
SOCIAL Prejudice, (maybe legal if we talk about the consequence to his actions)

why it cant be the others--->
racial ---- they say nothing about race here.
(MAYBE) legal----- from the passage, we can say that the guy is richhhhh, and he might be able to wave off the consequences of his murder. but then again you only analyze this passage so, probably not
environmental---- they don't mention the environment....

THE REASON WHY IT SHOULD BE SOCIAL- their social standings in this situation
-diamond ring (if thats what they mean by diamond ring finger, it could mean something else as well) only the rich can afford, a cane too
- hotel society gathering... (rich)
-poor Hattie Carroll could be literal as well.
