Answer:

The ancient Greeks most likely believed that their gods lived by different values than man.

Explanation:

The supposed passage is given as-

<em>Heracles was the son of Zeus, a god, and Alcmene, a mortal. Zeus's wife, Hera, hated the child, who was originally named Alcides, but was renamed Heracles in a failed attempt to appease Hera. Out of jealousy, Hera tried to kill Heracles as an infant. But she failed and Heracles grew to manhood, gifted with supernatural strength. Hera succeeded in driving Heracles insane, causing him to kill his wife and three children, after which Heracles exiled himself in shame.</em>

Based on the passage, we can see that even though Hera, who is a goddess did so many terrible things like attempting to kill an infant. She also made Heracles insane which led him to kill his whole family. Though these acts would be deemed the worse of the worst in human standards, the gods did not seem to think likewise. Instead, nothing happened to her. This shows that the gods and the humans, immortal and mortals, have different values of living.

Which revision best corrects the vague pronoun in the sentence below?
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

c) Jack will not understand the club’s decision unless he talks to Christopher.

Explanation:

A vague pronoun is a pronoun that does not clearly indicate which antecedent (or noun) it is referring to. All options, except option C, have a vague pronoun because in these sentences it is not clear whether “he” (the pronoun) is referring to the antecedent “Jack” or “Christopher.”

Option C, on the other hand, is the one that corrects the vague pronoun because it clearly states that the pronoun “he” refers to “Jack” only.

(a) Classify what do the writers whom barry Lopez mentions in the first paragraph have in common ? (b) Connect what larger point
Neko [114]

Answer:

(a.)The writers whom Barry Lopez mentioned in the first paragraph have in common is the kind of writing they do, recently referred to as <em>"nature or landscape writing".</em> It is a type of writing that takes into account the impact that nature and place have on culture.

(b). By mentioning a range of old and new writers, Barry Lopez tried to make a point that although people believed the type of nature writing is new, there have been several and widely known nature writers in the past in American Literature who have written about impact of nature and place on culture, or nature/landscape writing. He tried to emphasize that  the old names would readily come to mind before remembering the new writers on the block.

Explain how the way Charlie’s character changes makes the plot go in a circle. Think about where Charlie starts and where he end
HACTEHA [7]

If the character starts and ends in the same place, the plot has gone in a circle.  For example, if Charlie was having problems with his teacher at the beginning of the story, and the story talks about the many weeks he has tried to fix these problems, yet the story ends with him still not resolving these problems, the plot had gone in a circle.  There is not resolution, no ending, no fix.
