The correct answer is A) Diem started reforms that stripped power from wealthy landowners.

What caused protests in South Vietnam during the presidency of Ngo Dinh Diem was "Diem started reforms that stripped power from wealthy landowners."

After the Geneva Conference that split Vietnam in two, South Vietnam President Ngo Dinh Diem started the persecution of political dissidents, Communist rebels that still lived in that part of Vietnam. This generated many internal problems that augmented when Diem started reforms that stripped power from wealthy landowners. Although he had the support of the United States and the American Army sent troops to South Vietnam, Diem was assassinated in 1863.

aleksley [76]
The answer that best completes the statement above is the first option. During the Great Purge at "Show" Trials, the suspects are often asked to admit to crimes which they could not have possibly done. When we say show trial, this is the kind of judgment done wherein it is influenced by the opinion of the public rather than giving justice itself.
