Answer:

The price/book ratio is 2.45

This price/book ratio indicates that the Chang, Inc company has 2.45 higher market value of the stock than the book value of the equity

Explanation:

For computing the price/book ratio, we have to apply the formula which is shown below:

= Market price of equity ÷ book value of equity

where,

the market value of equity = firm's earnings per share × price/earnings ratio × number of outstanding common stock shares

= $3.00 × 12.25 × 50,000 shares

= $1,837,500

And, the book value of equity is $750,500

Now put these values to the above formula

So, the answer would be equal to

= $1,837,500 ÷ $750,500

= 2.45

This price/book ratio indicates that the Chang, Inc company has 2.45 higher market value of the stock than the book value of the equity

LO 2.1Explain how the income statement of a manufacturing company differs from the income statement of a merchandising company.
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

Revenue: The revenue of Manufacturing company comes from the sale of the products that they manufacture. However the merchandising company purchases goods from manufacturing companies and distribute them to make it easier for the customer to access the product and earn a profit on it which increases the cost of the product to end consumer. The contract between the manufacturing and merchandising company can be an agreement of principal and agent. In this case, the revenue for the merchandising company would be commission earned from manufacturing company. This commission paid to merchandising company will be cost to manufacturing company.

Cost of Sale: Now the raw material costs plus depreciation of production machinery plus direct labour plus variable Overhead cost plus if their is any commission paid for sale of finished goods will be the cost of sale for manufacturing  company. Whereas in the case of Merchandising company, the cost of sale will be only the cost of goods they sold in the year. The depreciation charge will be minor in merchandising company as they don't have any production machineries.

These the are major difference between manufacturing and merchandising company.

The existence of a(n) _____ entity indicates that its minimum cardinality is zero.
zzz [600]
The existence of an optional entity indicates that its minimum cardinality is zero. The following are the types of the optional entities.

• Super type (optional) is the generalized fundamental entity that shares its attributes and associations with this fundamental entity. This can be the fundamental entity originating from the super type business term that this fundamental entity originates from.

• Sub types (optional) is the fundamental entities that inherit the attributes and associations from this fundamental entity.

• Attributes (optional) is the attributes that describe this fundamental entity. When attributes are united crossways multiple important entities, consider defining a super type fundamental entity to hold the shared attributes and define them only once. These attributes are based on the secondary business terms related to the primary business term that this fundamental entity originates from, and on the description of that primary business term.

• Relationships (optional) is the relationships to other entities. An important unit can be relative of one or more relationships with an associative unit. A fundamental unit can also be right associated to another fundamental entity as a child or a parent when the cardinality is at most a one to many. These relationships are founded on the related main relations to the business term that this fundamental entity creates from.
