Answer:

1. B. Her learning style and the instructor’s teaching style conflict.

While Keisha is doing better when information is presented in a clear manner (names of key figures, dates, major points), the instructor teaches about concepts that are more abstract and wants students to analyze on their own and reach answers that way. Keisha's approach is more direct than the instructor's, and that is causing her trouble.

2. D. Visit the instructor during office hours and explain her difficulties. Work together to find a way to maximize Keisha’s learning despite the differences in their teaching and learning styles.

Keisha's problem is something that definitely can and should be solved. Her visiting the instructor's office would help the instructor understand the issue and give them both an opportunity to find a solution together. The instructor could give Keisha advice, suggest some learning techniques that are a bit different than Keisha's own but are still something she could fulfill. Or, maybe, he could start using a bit different approach, which could make studying easier for other students who have similar issues.

3. B. Stay up all night cramming the night before.

Good sleep is something a student needs before an exam, so cramming all night before it is not a good idea. Besides, it is not probable that she would learn much that way. There are other things she could do, like visiting the instructor or joining a study group.

4. B. Actively take notes while she is listening to lectures and add symbols, charts, or graphs to map out concepts.

Different people have different learning preferences, and as Keisha learns through a visual mode, she should add symbols, charts and graphs to her notes to help her visualize the material and memorize it with more ease. By doing so, she shouldn't have to worry about failing anymore.

The fraction of the global human population living in developed nations is currently 17 percent. If each person in the developed
patriot [66]

Answer:

The amount of meat consumed is 1.326 x 10^{11} kg.

Explanation:

The current global human population is approximately 7.8 billion, of which with respect to the given question 17% lives in developed nations.

Population of people living in developed nations = 17% of 7.8 billion

                                                       = \frac{17}{100} x 7 800 000 000

                                                       = 1 326 000 000

If each person consume 100 kg of meat per year, the amount of meat consumed in the developed world in 1 year = 1 326 000 000 x 100

                                                       = 132 600 000 000

The amount of meat consumed by developed world in 1 year is 132 600 000 000 kg (i.e 1.326 x 10^{11} kg).

In an effort to balance free speech rights with the need to create safe learning environments for a diverse group of students, s
zzz [600]

Designated free-speech zones are also becoming commonplace at certain public events, particularly those attended by high-ranking government officials, because of security concerns.

At the 2000 Democratic National Convention held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, police set up a “secured zone,” which could be entered only by those with an actual convention ticket, and a “demonstration zone,” which was the only place protesters were allowed to demonstrate.

Several groups of protesters filed for a preliminary injunction in federal court, which it granted. The court held that the secured zone comprised sidewalks and streets, which constituted a traditional public forum. The court further held that the planned regulation was not narrowly tailored and did not provide adequate alternative means of communication,

because at all times it kept demonstrators too far away from their intended audience — convention attendees. The court significantly noted that “banning speech is an unacceptable means of planning for potential misconduct.”Free speech zones are areas set aside in public places for the purpose of political protesting. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states that "Congress shall make no law ... abridging ... the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." The existence of free speech zones is based on U.S. court decisions stipulating that the government may reasonably regulate the time, place, and manner – but not content – of expression.

The Supreme Court has developed a four-part analysis to evaluate the constitutionality of time, place and manner (TPM) restrictions. To pass muster under the First Amendment, TPM restrictions must be neutral with respect to content, be narrowly drawn, serve a significant government interest, and leave open alternative channels of communication. Application of this four-part analysis varies with the circumstances of each case, and typically requires lower standards for the restriction of obscenity and fighting words.

The purpose of free speech zones is to protect the safety of those attending the political gathering, or for the safety of the protesters themselves. Critics, however, suggest that such zones are "Orwellian" and that authorities use them in a heavy-handed manner to censor protesters by putting them literally out of sight of the mass media, hence the public, as well as visiting dignitaries. Though authorities generally deny specifically targeting protesters, on a number of occasions, these denials have been contradicted by subsequent court testimony. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed, with various degrees of success and failure, a number of lawsuits on the issue.

The repetition of versions of the word “like” at the end of each line of the poem does all of the following EXCEPT
Readme [11.4K]

Answer:

E. suggests that the speaker's vocabulary is limited

Explanation:

The question above is related to the poem entitled "Sestina: Like," written by A.E. Stallings. It is a fixed verse type of poem which consists of six stanzas. Every stanza has six lines.

The repetition of versions of the word "like" at the end of the lines allows the poem to focus on its subject matter. This allows the central concept of the poem to be unified. It also shows that the poet used the word "like" as a play on words because it provides "humor" to what is happening in the society today.

So, this concludes that using the word "like" doesn't mean the poet has a limited vocabulary.

Thus, this explains the answer.
