Imagine you are a consultant who has been asked to summarize the strengths and weaknesses of Agoria, a nation with a pure market

economy.Which of the following would you include in your report as weaknesses of Agoria's economy? Check all that apply.Occupational choices can be restricted. The economy experiences economic fluctuations, which are alternating periods of expansions and recessions in their level of economic activity, especially in employment and production.Because government is responsible for all production, the variety of products tends to be limited.People with no resources to sell could starve (income is distributed unequally).

Answer:

Two weaknesses as consultant can be identify: The economy experiences economic fluctuations, and people with no resources to sell could starve

Explanation:

In a pure market economy, the allocation of resources is based on purely the dynamics between supply and demand. If our economy is closed (there is no imports nor exports) and there is not different actors (such as government) and all trade goods are perfect (they are not public or semi-public goods), then the market will efficiently allocate all the resources. Nevertheless, this is not the case, and with an open economy and the existence of imperfections, any external impact will cause economic fluctuations, and those workers with no demandable offer will not be hired, and potentially will be out of the market.

Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

Answer:

Contribution margin income statement for the special order-8,000

Sales (8,000× $12) 96,000

Less Variable Costs ($ 240,000/25,000×8,000) (76,800)

Contribution 19,200

Less Fixed Costs 0

Net Income 19,200

The special order results in an incremental income of $19,200, therefore Hensely should accept the special order.

Explanation:

The Fixed Costs are irrelevant for this decision since Hensely has excess capacity and incurrs the expense whether or not the special order is accepted.

RoseWind [281]

Answer:

Journal Entries

April 4 Debit Accounts receivable $5,000

Credit Sales revenue $5,000

To record the sale of goods on credit, terms of 3/10, n/30.

April 5 Debit Sales returns $500

Credit Accounts receivable (cash) $500

To record the return of goods for a cash refund.

Explanation:

a) Data and Analysis:

April 4 Accounts receivable $5,000 Sales revenue $5,000 credit terms of 3/10, n/30.

April 5 Sales returns $500 Accounts receivable (cash) $500

b) The seller uses a periodic inventory system. Therefore, the cost of goods sold will not be recorded on April 4 until April 30, when there will be a physical count of inventory to determine the closing inventory. With the beginning and ending inventories together with the purchases account, the cost of goods sold can then be calculated.

Alton Company uses a process-costing system for its single product. Material A is added at the beginning of the process; in cont
Semenov [28]

Answer:

e. A, 6,000; B, 6,000.

Explanation:

At the beginning of the process Materials A are added. Therefore it won't matter if the process is 80% or less/more is complete, the materials A have already been added and would be equivalent to the ending work-in-process inventory i.e. 6,000 units.

Materials B are added when the units are 75% complete. Since the ending work-in-process are 80% complete, then this means that the Materials B equivalent to 6,000 units have already been added to the ending inventory.

Hence, both materials A and B have been added to the ending work-in-process inventory for 6,000 units. Therefore, option E is correct.
