The Badgers were behind by two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. With two players on base, Victoria was confident that she

could secure a win with a perfectly placed hit. The first pitch was a vicious fastball that Victoria missed by a mile. The opposition cheered when the umpire called the strike, but Victoria grew more determined to get a hit. After several more pitches, the count was full with three balls and two strikes. Victoria had only one more chance. The final pitch seemed to take its time crossing the plate. Finally, Victoria swung her bat and made contact with the ball. The ball soared past the outfielders and over the fence; it was a home run! When she triumphantly crossed home plate, Victoria's appreciative teammates surrounded her.
The climax of the story occurs when Victoria
A) hits a home run.
B) misses the first pitch.
C) hears the opposition cheering.
D) is surrounded by her teammates.

Answer:

Always be careful about purchasing expensive items, is the item really a necessity for you or will you actually use this item often? Maybe your just buying it to stay "with it" socially. Make sure you do some research about available varieties and some research about cist and reliability of various brands. You should also consider the cost of running the item, since you don't want to be stuck with a "lemon". You never know, it may use a lot of electricity or gas, maybe then you'll have even more expense then the purchase price. These are just a few things to consider because buying an expensive item requires care.

What makes the ending of "The Necklace" Ironic? Atleast a one paragraph response!
tatuchka [14]
The necklace is ironic in the fact that when the necklace is borrowed it is believed to be a real diamond necklace. When she loses the "diamond necklace" she works very long to repay the person she borrowed from because she thinks the necklace she lost was worth much money. When she gives the money to the person she borrowed from and confesses that she lost it she was told that the necklace was a fake and that she worried and worked for many years over nothing. This is an example of situational irony. She thought the necklace was worth very much money when it was really only worth very little

SashulF [63]
1 is sort of factually incorrect. Christ respected women. Anyway I don't think it is the best answer.

2. The second one is about customs. She's saying that she's entitled to be treated as a woman. It's not the best answer, because Abigail Adams is saying that she will not be bound by any law she did not participate in making.

3. Comes as close as any of the other answers and more so. I'd pick C.

4. Says that women can do anything  men can do and bear punishment besides..
