The area in which I live is the Tikvesh area. Initially, the population in the area has been very low, and most of it has been covered in dense deciduous forest. The population was growing overtime though.

With the growth of the population more food was needed. This made the people to start cutting down the forest and opened up space for more agricultural land in order to produce enough food.

That had very bad effect on the environment, as the forest has been destroyed in big portion, which has resulted in dying out of lot of animals in the area, but also large scale erosion. Another noticeable change has been the increased temperature and decrease in precipitation.

As the times were changing, and the area started to industrialize, numerous factories have been opened up, and even more people flocked into the area. Some factories, such as the fero-nickel manufacturing one, contributed to big pollution of the air and the water. Some were focused on making goods from agricultural products, so the agriculture increased even more.

The area also started to specialize, as there was no more need to engage into subsidence farming, since the food could have been gotten from the other areas without any problems, so the agriculture started to specialize, so most of the arable land has been converted to vineyards.

The vineyards need lot of chemicals in order for the grapes to be safe from diseases and pests. The intense usage of chemicals has resulted in pollution of the groundwater, annihilation of numerous plants and smaller animals, and total change of the landscape.

Adam, who is 5'6" tall, notices his shadow on the sidewalk. If the angle of elevation from the tip of the shadow to the sun is 6
german

Answer:

This problem can be solved using trigonomtry, assuming that the figure formed by Adam's shadow and Adam himself is a Right Triangle (as shown in the figure attached).

According to this, the distance from the tip of the shadow to the top of Adam's head is the hypotenuse H of the triangle, and we already know Adam's height and the angle of elevation. So, the trigonometric function that best works in this case is sine:

sen(angle)=\frac{Oppositeleg}{hypotenuse}

Where the opposite leg is the side of the triangle that is opposite to the 60\º angle.

In this especific case:

sen(60\º)=\frac{5.6feet}{H}     (1)

In order to know the value of the hypotenuse we have to find H from equation (1):

H=\frac{5.6feet}{sen(60\º)}

H=6.4663 feet

Rounding:

H=6.46 feet>>>>>This is the distance from the tip of the shadow to the top of Adam's head

zimovet [89]

Cartographers can represent the spherical Earth on flat paper by making a projection which is like casting shadows from the spherical world onto a flat piece of paper

Explanation:

Cartographers otherwise known as map makers who combine nature and science through an acquired skill called cartography, it could serve as an efficient form of communicative technique for acquiring information through the procession of data.

Cartographers use PROJECTION to represent the spherical earth on a flat paper, through this scientific method, one could say that this structure reshapes reality in the human eye. There are steps or ways in which one can achieve a representation of the spherical earth on flat paper but it can only be foreseen by the complementarity of PROJECTION.
