Colil Computer Systems, Inc., manufactures printer circuit cards. All direct materials are added at the inception of the product

ion process. During January, the accounting department noted that there was no beginning inventory. Direct materials purchases totaled $300,000 during the month. Work-in-process records revealed that 10,000 card units were started in January, 5,000 card units were complete, and 4,000 card units were spoiled as expected. Ending work-in-process card units are complete in respect to direct materials costs. Spoilage is not detected until the process is complete. What is the amount allocated to the work-in-process ending inventory?

Answer:

amount allocated to the work-in-process ending inventory $ 30,000

Explanation:

Spoilage is treated as abnormal loss.

Completed units of Finished goods    = 5000 units (100% complete)

Abnormal loss units                         = 4000 units (100% complete as loss detected on completion)

Closing WIP units                            =   1000 units (100% complete in respect to material )

Total equivalent unit for material         = 10,000 units

Total cost of material                         = $300,000

Material cost per equivalent unit         = $ 30 per equivalent unit

Material cost in Closing WIP(1000 units @30) = $ 30,000

Answer:

The amount allocated to the work-in-process ending inventory is $30,000

Explanation:

For computing the allocated amount for ending work in progress, first, we have to compute the per unit cost which is shown below:

Per unit cost = (Total cost) ÷ (total number of units)

where,

Total cost is $300,000

And, the total number of units equal to

= Units started + spoiled units + ending work in progress units

= 5,000 units + 4,000 units + 1,000 units

= 10,000 units

The closing units is

= Total units - Units started - spoiled units

= 10,000 - 5,000 - 4,000

= 1,000 units

Now put these values to the above formula

So, the per unit would equal to

= $300,000 ÷ 10,000 units

= $30

So, the ending work in progress is

= Ending work in progress units × per unit

= 1,000 units × 30

= $30,000

olga_2 [115]

Answer:

The equal monthly payment is $3,068.20

Explanation:

The equally monthly payments can be computed using the pmt formula in excel.

=pmt(rate,nper,pv,fv)

rate is the monthly nominal rate of 6%/12=0.5%

nper is the number of monthly payments required which is 4*12=48

pv is the current value of the bicycle of $170,000

fv is the worth balance of the financing arrangement at the end of fourth year that should be paid once ,$50,000 balloon payment

=pmt(0.5%,48,-170000,50000)

=$3,068.20

Note that the interest is one month interest rate as the payment is expected monthly.

Assume the spot rate for the British pound currently is $1.5701/£. Also assume the one-year forward rate is $1.5574/£. A risk-fr
olga nikolaevna [1]

Answer:

D) 4.04 percent

Explanation:

Spot rate is £1 = $1.5701

Forward exchange rate after 1 year is £1 = $1.5574

Risk free rate in US = 3.2 %

Forward rate = {Spot rate * (1 + risk free rate in US)} / (1 + risk free rate in UK)

1.5574 = {1.5701 * ( 1 + 0.032)} / (1 + risk free rate in UK)

(1 + risk free rate in UK) = (1.5701 * 1.032) / 1.5574

Risk free rate in UK = (1.62034 / 1.5574) - 1

Risk free rate in UK = 1.0404 - 1

Risk free rate in UK = 0.0404

Risk free rate in UK = 4.04%

Ward Doering Auto Sales is considering offering a special service contract that will cover the total cost of any service work re
kodGreya [7K]

Answer:

a. The probability that any one customers service costs will exceed the contract price of $200 is 0.0228

b. Warda expected profit per service contract is $50

Explanation:

a. In order to calculate  the probability that any one customers service costs will exceed the contract price of $200 we would have to calculate first the z value as follows:

z=x-μ/σ

z=$200-$150/$25

z=2

Therefore, probability that any one customers service costs will exceed the contract price of $200 is p(x>$200)=p(z>2)

=1-p(z≤2)

=1-0.9772

=0.0228

The probability that any one customers service costs will exceed the contract price of $200 is 0.0228

b. To calculate Warda expected profit per service contract we would have to make the following calculation:

Warda expected profit per service contract=service charge per contract-expected cost

Warda expected profit per service contract=$200-$150

Warda expected profit per service contract=$50

Warda expected profit per service contract is $50

Derst Inc. sells a particular textbook for $140. Variable expenses are $25 per book. At the current volume of 6,000 books sold p
mamaluj [8]

Answer:

Option (B) is correct.

Explanation:

Given that,

Selling price of a product = $140 per textbook

Variable expenses = $25 per book

Books sold per year = 6,000 books (It is the break even point)

The break even point indicates that there is no profit or loss incurred at the sales.

This means that the sales revenue is equal to the total cost incurred to produced these goods.

Sales per unit - Variable cost per unit - Fixed costs per unit = 0

$140 - $25 - Fixed costs = 0

$115 = Fixed costs per unit

Therefore, the total amount of fixed cost is calculated as follows:

= Fixed cost per unit × Number of books sold

= $115 × 6,000

= $690,000
