The population of cactus dwelling birds will decrease and that of the animal they eat will increase.

Explanation:

When cacti is removed from the desert ecosystem, the birds that have their nest on the cacti will no longer have a home so they will migrate to other areas with favorable ecosystem. This will reduce the number of birds in this ecosystem. In turn, the animals that were feed by the birds will have the chance to multiply in numbers because a predator has been removed in the ecosystem.

Assume that a particular human cell is examined under a microscope, and it contains 22 autosomes and a Y chromosome. This cell i
frez [133]

Answer:

A sperm cell

Explanation:

A diploid cell has 46 chromosomes which is normally signified by somatic cells. Germ cells or gametes are haploid cells therefore they contain only 23 chromosomes. Male gamete contains 22 autosomes and one sex chromosome. That sex chromosome can be X or Y.

Female gamete does not have Y chromosome as a sex chromosome, it has only X chromosome as a sex chromosome. So Y chromosome in a human cell which have 22 autosomes determines that it is a male gametic cell or a sperm cell. Sperm cells that have a Y chromosome if fuses with female gamete produce male offspring(XY).

So the correct answer is- a sperm cell.

Mnenie [13.5K]

The most common way these trees undergo pollination is through seeds and pollen.

The pollination is done with help of wind and birds where pollen transform from one plant to another.

Explanation:

The plants that undergoes pollination process through the seeds that are present in it are called as Angiosperms. These contains fruits. The seeds are usually present inside these fruits. Flowering plants are also called as Angiosperms.

These fruits and flowers are absent in gymnosperm. Even then they contain seeds inside the leaves surface. They will undergo pollination with these naked seeds. It is the fruits, flowers and the endosperm that are present in the seeds that help us to find difference between these two. The only common thing that exists between these two are seeds and pollen with which they pollinate.

In gymnosperms, pollen is transferred from male cone to female cone through wind or birds. Now, the pollen is germinated into pollen tubes and sperm for egg fertilization.

fgiga [73]

Answer: Only some of the organisms survive and reproduce.

Natural selection is a process of differential survival and reproduction in which organisms bearing favorable phenotypic traits survive in changing environmental conditions. Therefore, only some of the organisms survive and reproduce which have suitable phenotypic trait. For example a population of beetle bearing two colors red and green. The green colored beetles mimic the color of grass will remain undetected by birds and those with red color easily observed and detected by birds. Hence, only green beetles are favored for survival over red beetles.

What type of receptors embedded in the urinary bladder wall initiate the micturition reflex?
sasho [114]
Answer is stretch receptors.

Stretch receptors respond to the distention of muscle wall of the bladder and are neurologically linked to the medulla. Stretch receptors in the bladder signal the parasympathetic nervous system to stimulate muscarine receptors, present in the detrusor muscle, to make him contract. This leads to the expulsion of urine.
