In the last stage of cellular respiration, oxidative phosphorylation, all of the reduced electron carriers produced in the previ

ous stages are oxidized by oxygen via the electron transport chain. The energy from this oxidation is stored in a form that is used by most other energy-requiring reactions in cells. From the following compounds involved in cellular respiration, choose those that are the net inputs and net outputs of oxidative phosphorylation.

Explanation:

ADP, O2, NADH

Respiration in the mitochondria utilizes oxygen for the production of ATP in the Krebs’s cycle via the oxidization of pyruvate( through the process of glycolysis).

Oxidative phosphorylation describes a process in which the NADH and FADH2 made in previous steps of respiration. The process give up electrons in the electron transport chain these are converted it to their previous forms, NADH+ and FAD. electrons continue to move down the chain the energy they release is used in pumping protons out of the matrix of the mitochondria this forms a gradient where there is a differential in the number of protons on either side of the membrane the protons  re-enter the matrix through the enzyme ATP synthase, which makes the energy storage molecules of ATP from the reduction of ADP.  At the end of the ET see molecules of oxygen accept electrons and protons form molecules of water.

A yellow female Labrador retriever was mated with a brown male. Half of the puppies were brown, and half were yellow. Explain ho
Over [174]

Answer:

The first male was bb Ee, and the second male was bb EE.

Explanation:

In Labradors coat colour is controlled by two genes. Suppose the two genes are B and E. B produces black colour and recessive form bb gives brown colour. Gene E is epistatic over gene B in its recessive form which means that ee will produce yellow colour regardless of the genotype present of B gene.

The first case is possible if the female lab is bbee (yellow) and the male lab is bbEe (brown):

bbee X bbEe

        bE      be

be  bbEe    bbee

So half of the offspring will be brown (bbEe) and half of them will be yellow (bbee)

The second case is possible if the same female bbee mates with a brown male of different genotype which can be bbEE:

bbee X bbEE

         bE

be   bbEe

So all offspring will be brown (bbEe)

Hence, the first male was bbEe and the second male was bbEE.

Name the three molecules that are illustrated in Model 1.
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

Pentanol, glucose and fatty acid.

Explanation:

Pentanol, glucose and fatty acid are the three molecules which are present in  the given model number 1. In the model, there are three different molecular diagrams for each molecule. The first one is ball and stick model, the second one is Lewis structure and the third one is line drawing method. All diagrams for a same molecule is totally different from another.

Mrac [35]

Answer:

Because the repetition of the experiment yields different results when they are realized by distinct groups of students .

Explanation:

The students needs to repeat the experiment and increase the value of n (sample size) in order to obtain statistically significant results and thus confirm the working hypothesis.

Base from your opinion, why we need to study the beginning of the universe? Give at least five reasons.
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer:

To know the origin of life, to have an idea of our ancestors, to be aware of the immensity of the universe, for informational reasons and to respect nature.

Explanation:

Many scientists and psychologists affirm that it is very complex for the human mind to understand the cycle of life and the origin of the universe, due to its immensity.

This is how it is necessary to be in constant scientific updating so as not to transmit false information and unravel human myths that are generated by lack of understanding of life-death.
