Munson Performance Auto, Inc., modifies 375 autos per year. The manager, Adam Munson, is interested in obtaining a measure of ov

erall performance. He has asked you to provide him with a multifactor measure of last year’s performance as a benchmark for future comparison. You have assembled the following data. Resource inputs were labor, 10,000 hours; 500 suspension and engine modification kits; and energy, 100,000 kilowatt-hours. Average labor cost last year was $20 per hour, kits cost $1,000 each, and energy costs were $3 per kilowatt-hour. What do you tell Mr. Munson?

Answer:

The last year's performance taking into account that was mofied 375 autos and considering inputs as Labor, Kits and Energy was $2,667 per auto.

Explanation:

1. To define a multifactor measure is necessary start by calculate the cost of different resources that was assembled, as follows:

1. Labor resource= 10,000 h

Labor cost per hour= $\frac{20}{h}

Labor input = 10,000h*\frac{20}{h}=$200,000

2. Suspension and engine modification kits = 500

Cost of each Kit= $1,000

Kit's Input= 500 kits*\frac{1000}{kit} = $500,000

3. Energy resource= 100,000 kilowatt-hours = 100,000 kW-h

Cost of each kilowatt-hour= $\frac{3}{kW-h}

Energy Input=  100,000kW-h*\frac{3}{kW-h}= $300,000

2. Now, for an overall performance you should sum differents Inputs;

Total Input=Labor Input + Kit's Input + Energy Input

Total Input= $200,000 + $500,000 + $300,000

Total Input = $1,000,000

3. Define how much money of the inputs ($1,000,000) corresponds to each of 375 autos:

Input per Auto = $\frac{1,000,000}{375}==$2,667

4. Answer:

The last year's performance taking into account that was mofied 375 autos and considering inputs as Labor, Kits and Energy was $2,667 per auto.

Determine the design angle ϕ (0∘≤ϕ≤90 ∘) between struts AB and AC so that the 400 lb horizontal force has a component of 600 lb
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

design angle ∅ = 4.9968 ≈ 5⁰

Explanation:

First calculate the force Fac :

Fac = \sqrt{400^2 + 650^2 - 2(400)(650)cos30}

      = \sqrt{160000 + 422500 - 80210}

      = 708.72 Ib

using the sine law to determine the design angle

\frac{sin}{400}  = \frac{sin 30}{Fac}

hence ∅ = sin^{-1} (\frac{sin 30 *400}{708.72} )

              = sin^{-1} 0.0871 =  4.9968 ≈ 5⁰

Consider insulation on a circular pipe For the same thickness and type of insulation, the thermal resistance of the insulation i
leonid [27]

Answer:

b). The same for all pipes independent of the diameter

Explanation:

We know,

R_{conduction}=\frac{ln(\frac{r_{2}}{r_{1}})}{2\pi LK}

R_{convection}=\frac{1}{h(2\pi r_{2}L)}

From the above formulas we can conclude that the thermal resistance of a substance mainly depends upon heat transfer coefficient,whereas radius has negligible effects on heat transfer coefficient.

We also know,

Factors on which thermal resistance of insulation depends are :

1. Thickness of the insulation

2. Thermal conductivity of the insulating material.

Therefore from above observation we can conclude that the thermal resistance of the insulation is same for all pipes independent of diameter.

Answer:

X_cp = c/2

Explanation:

We are given;

Chord = c

Angle of attack = α

p u (s) = c 1

p1(s)=c2,

and c2 > c1

First of all, we need to find the resultant normal force on the plate and the total moment about leading edge.

When should you exercise extreme caution around power lines?
Elis [28]

<em>You should take note and exercise extreme precautions when you are near power lines and consider the following: </em>

<em> </em>

<em>1. Make sure that you have a good distance away from the lines. The minimum distance you can get is 10 feet away from the lines. Be cautious as well when you see broken lines as they could still harm you and electrified you. </em>

<em>2. Do not make ladders, equipments and things around you touch the power lines as it may harm you as well. </em>

<em>3. Clear everything and ensure that no things are near you before you lift your hands and other tools.</em>
