The correct answer is A.

The irony in this excerpt is given by the fact that what is intended to be an insult is taken as a compliment.

Fritz warns Frank that, because of her going out so much, people are starting to believe that she has a lover and that he is writing her books for her. He intents this as an insult, as if people are calling her a fraud.

However, for Frank, it is a compliment because if they believe her lover, a man, is writing them, then her books must be very good.

Why does Olivia decide to announce the winner of the contest?
aleksandr82 [10.1K]

Answer:

Olivia enjoys the attention she received however she knows that she cannot accept the trophy because it would be dishonest

Explanation:

It says in the story that while she likes the attention shes getting from the rest of the high school because Olivia is the shy one and as the story says "flies under the radar" but even though Olivia likes the attention, she cant accept the trophy as that would make her feel bad and that would be dishonest of her to take somebody's else's trophy and take the credit.

"Batter My Heart" How does the poet use strong verbs to create rhythm and develop the meaning of the poem? Cite specific example
kipiarov [429]
I'm not gonna write out 100 words, but I did find
-Alliteration in one-syllable words such as "break, blow, burn" creates a kind of beat and rhythm, and emphasises the meaning of those words
-There's definitely a lot of "me" in the sonnet, and the line "your viceroy in me, me should defend" uses repetition in "me" to emphasise it of course but also provides a good flow into the next line
