Answer:

The black diaspora, the experience of slavery and ancient African languages are all that apply.

Explanation:

The Black Diaspora:

Black English is historically related to the black diaspora living in U.S. also known as the African American English. It is a set of language varieties spoken among the Black people ranging from African American Vernacular English to a more Standard English.

It was a result of the influence of British English speakers who settled in the American colony during the prevalent cotton plantation culture on the African culture. Black English began in the seventeenth century when the African slaves were brought to north America, then a British Colony.

Which phrase or sentence in this excerpt from Kurt Vonnegut's "Report on the Barnhouse Effect" demonstrates the use of irony?
ycow [4]
General Barker bustled about the house like a woman preparing Thanksgiving dinner for twenty.

This is the best example of irony. The excerpt describes General Barker, who occupies a traditionally very masculine profession, preparing for the demonstration of the most destructive weapon in the history of mankind as if he were a woman bustling about the house preparing Thanksgiving dinner. This juxtaposition creates a sense of irony.

Which in-text citation is correctly formatted in MLA style? (Smith 179) (Smith 2015) (Smith, 2015) (Smith, p. 179)
katrin [286]

The correct answer is "(Smith 179)".

The MLA in-text citation format comprises the author's last name and the page number of the author's work being referred to. These elements MUST NOT be separated by a comma or any other punctuation mark.

The option "(Smith 2015)" could be considered correct provided the author's work is 2015 pages long or more. It is most likely this number indicates the publication year of the author's work, rather than the page number. Therefore, this option is discarded.
