Answer:

Moral corruption is evident throughout Hamlet. The statement "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark," made by Marcellus in act I scene IV, sums up the moral corruption in the play.

You may have used these other instances of moral corruption in your answer:

Claudius eyeing his brother's wife, Queen Gertrude

Claudius murdering his brother

Claudius marrying his brother's wife

Claudius and Gertrude attempting to convince Hamlet to move on from his father's death and accept his stepfather

Polonius' treatment of Ophelia and his willingness to do the bidding of Claudius

Prince Hamlet plotting to kill his uncle Claudius

Prince Hamlet abusing his mother and calling her promiscuous

Hamlet killing Polonius instead of Claudius

Claudius ordering the king of England to put his nephew, Hamlet, to death

Claudius poisoning Laertes's sword before his duel with Hamlet

Hamlet stabbing Claudius

the death of all the morally corrupt characters of the play (Hamlet, Polonius, Laertes, Claudius, Gertrude, and even Rosencrantz and Guildenstern), which may mean that corruption will lead to death

You may also have used quotes from the play similar to the one below, in which Hamlet laments his mother's sudden marriage to his uncle:

O God! a beast that wants discourse of reason,

Would have mourn'd longer—married with my uncle,

My father's brother...

Answer:

Alright so basically Claudius kills his brother to get the throne of Denmark. During the process of this, Claudius also marries his sister-in-law, Gertrude, which was Claudius brother's wife. Hamlet is the son of Claudius brother and Gertrude. One night, Hamlet's dad comes to him as a ghost and tells him that Claudius was the one who murdered him. Now Hamlet wants to get revenge on his uncle and kill him. He ends up putting on a play that shows a character die almost the exact way Hamlets father did. All the while, he's watching his uncle for any ounce of regret. After the play Hamlet concludes that his uncle, Claudius, did indeed kill his father. When he went to kill him, he stopped because he heard Claudius praying for forgiveness for his sins. He was all like "shoot, now I got to wait and catch him in a sin that way when I kill him he's sure to go to hell!". Then Hamlet ends up killing Polonius, and when Laertes found out his dad was dead, he went to Claudius castle and accused him of killing his dad. Claudius said that he didn't kill him and after some convincing, Laertes believed him. Claudius ends up ordering the king of England to put his nephew, Hamlet, to death. Hamlet then ends up stabbing Claudius. This is one of the central themes of the play because there are a lot of important deaths.

And no this is not the official answer that you'll get on PLATO when you submit it. So you don't have to really worry about plagiarism.

Oksanka [162]

Answer:

The universal theme present in this excerpt is:

A. Hard work often leads to injuries and suffering.

Explanation:

"A Girl from Yamhill" is a memoir by author Beverly Cleary. In the particular excerpt we are analyzing here, the universal theme that can be noticed is that hard work often leads to injuries and suffering. We all know that, as a general rule, farm work is hard work. It demands a lot of physical strength from those performing it. The character in the excerpt has the muscles to do the work, but his shoulder sockets are too shallow for the weight of those muscles. When the horses jer.k on the reins, he dislocates his arm. This injury obviously leads to pain and suffering.
