even a person can obtain the necessary number of calories every day from the steak, these calories will come from just one kind of food.

Remember the body needs different sources of nutrients like proteins, carbohydrates and oils, in different proportions because they have different purposes. For example, carbohydrates are the responsible for the energy that the body needs, also these molecules can change into fats if the body do not use all the energy from these molecules.

Fats are the reservoirs of energy of the body, also can regulate our body temperature, that is the reason why we need some of them.

And the proteins are ones that are going to give us the  molecules for building our tissues.

Besides these 3 big groups, minerals and vitamins from fruits and veggies are necessary.
