Answer:

a. paraplegia

b. paraplegia (it is repeated)

Explanation:

• Paraplegia T1-T9 (Requires assistance at least 3 hours a day). People with lesions from T1 preserve innervation and, therefore, the function of all upper limb muscles. They can achieve functional independence, not only in self-care and mobility activities, but also in certain light domestic activities. From this level of injury, an intensive training to carry the manual wheelchair through irregular terrain, slopes and ramps is feasible. From the T6 lesion the patients present a better trunk control. In addition, with proper training, they can make transfers from the floor to the chair. People with injuries between T2 and T9 can achieve prophylactic standing with parallel bitters, with the support of a walker or crutches.

• Paraplegia T10 L1 (Requires assistance at least 2 hours a day) Patients with injuries from T10 have normal breathing with normal vital capacity. As with T1-T9 lesions, they are independent in activities of daily living, sphincter care and transfers. This group of patients is able to perform independent standing and assisted therapeutic walking. Unfortunately for all these activities, energy expenditure is excessive and joint wear of the upper limbs is important. Patients remain dependent on a self-propelled wheelchair for travel.

Ben Affleck has a cleft chin, but his ex-wife Jennifer Garner does not. Neither one of their two daughters (Violet and Seraphina
kherson [118]

Answer:

Ben - Y Xc

Jen - XCXC

Violet - XCXc

Seraphina - XCXc

Samuel- Y Xc

Explanation:

Given -

Ben has a cleft chin

Let the allele for cleft chin be "c"

and the allele for normal chin be "C"

When Ben with cleft chin mates with wife Jennifer Garner having normal chin, then the two girl child do not have cleft chin but the boy has cleft chin.

This means that the allele C could be X -linked and the mother is not the carrier but the father is

The genotype of father Ben would be Y Xc

Genotype of mother would be XCXC

Genotype of two daughters XCXc  , XCXc which means they are carrier for the next generation

Genotype of Boy - Y Xc

Tall pea plants are dominant, while short plants are recessive. In a cross between a purebred tall plant and a purebred short pl
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

1. tall (or heterozygous)

2. 3:1

3. carriers

4. Each parent organism contributes one copy of its alleles in a seemingly random fashion to its offspring, as meiosis to create gametes (egg or sperm cells) reduces the number of genes by half. Therefore, each gamete contributes only one allele.

5. A Punnett square is a diagram used to map out the possible genotypes of a child given the genotypes of its parents. In a Punnett square, the genotype of one parent is listed in the first row of the square, and the genotype of the second parent is listed in the first column. Then, in the middle squares, all possible genotypes of their offspring are listed, and the phenotypes are calculated using the law of dominance.

6. Purebred strains of organisms always produce heterozygous offspring in the first generation, with all members of the first generation exhibiting the dominant trait for the gene of interest. The second generation typically has a 3:1 mix of dominant and recessive phenotypes, respectively.

7. Punnett squares predict that the second generation of two distinct purebred homozygotes for a trait will have a 3:1 ratio of dominant to recessive traits. Mendel did careful statistical analysis on his hybridization experiments and found that, for each of his seven characteristics of interest, the ratio was approximately, but not exactly, 3:1. Therefore, Mendel's experimental observations match the predictions of Punnett squares quite well.

Romashka [77]

Answer:

Bronchospasm

Explanation:

Bronchospasm is known to be a condition that results from the contraction of the muscles that is found in the wall of the bronchioles which result into obstruction and narrowing of the respiratory airway. Thus, substance released from basophils or mast cell under the control of anaphylatoxin usually causes Bronchospasm. Furthermore, Bronchospasm is commonly caused by asthma and can also be caused by allergic reactions, respiratory infection, and chronic lung diseases.
