Answer:

B. His choice of walking for enjoyment

Explanation:

Ray Bradbury’s short story “The Pedestrian” is set in AD 2053. The protagonist, Leonard Mead, takes a night stroll every night (at 8 pm), as he has done for the past 10 years. During all these years he had never encountered another pedestrian. The night in which the story is set is no different, except that a lone police car (robotic by implication) stops him and takes him in because he was walking for enjoyment, “for air, and to see, and just to walk,” a concept which didn’t make any sense to the car, as it was a very unusual thing to do at that time. The streets were completely deserted with everyone inside their ‘tomb-like’ houses that Mead passed by, giving references of TV channels that they must be watching.

Walking for enjoyment was in fact so unusual that the police car takes Mead to the “Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive tendencies.” It was not only an unusual, but a regressive behaviour, which made Mead an unusual person in his society.

Answer:

It would be hard to find a European city that has a worse reputation than Bartovia's, with crime, rubbish, graffiti and dereliction featuring in every description over the last 60 years. With unemployment running at 11% and the city government essentially bankrupt, there are few bright spots in Bartovia's future. One of the few, however, is a new venture run by Sergio Leone, who has returned to the city of his birth to try and make the impossible a reality. Along with tanning (the process of treating animal skins to produce leather), dyeing has a long and glorious history in Bartovia. The difference today, though, is that Sergio Leone's mission is to bring to a centuries-old tradition the very latest bleeding-edge technology.

If I bolded and underlined the word, it means I either added one or took it out. I added 3 and took out 1. Skins is the one I took out, the rest I put in.

Let me Know I I am right. :)

Annus Mirabilis is in Latin and it means 'Year of Miracles'. The title alludes to noble events, despite London had faced a Great Fire and the plague, and England has fought in two battles. John Dryden believes that these events were performed by God and they have saved England from destruction.

AysviL [449]

Answer: The figurative language of simile and sensory imagery have been used in the poem "Simile" by N. Scott Momaday.

Simile is a figure of speech that involves comparison in order to make the description more vivid. A simile has been used in the line "now we are as the deer..". The poet compares human beings to deer who walk in a single line with heads high and eyes watchful.

Sensory imagery has been used in the line "in whose limbs there is latent flight". This means that the speaker and his audience is ready to flee at the smallest possible sign of imminent danger or threat.
