During the cell cycle, the cell must pass through several checkpoints that confirm that the cell is ready to progress to the nex

t phase of the cycle. If the requirements of one phase have not been met, the cell cannot proceed to the next phase. These checkpoints help control the rate of cell division. If a mutation disables one of these checkpoints, what is most likely to happen?
a. Cells proceed through phases of the cell cycle in the wrong order
b. Cells remain in one phase of the cell cycle for the rest of their existence
c. The cell begins dividing too often, forming a tumor

In exocytosis, the membrane package fuses with _____.a transport protein a gap junction the nucleus the cell membrane
Maksim231197 [3]
Exocytosis is a procedure by which a cell transports secretory items through the cytoplasm to the plasma film. Secretory items are bundled into transport vesicles. In exocytosis, the one that fuses with the membrane package is the cell membrane. The membrane is transported to the cell membrane and the water molecules are released into the extracellular environment.

Messenger RNA carries a(n) ___________ of the DNA’s instructions out of the nucleus to the ___________.
Nitella [24]

messenger RNA (mRNA) carries a transcript (copy) of the DNA's instructions out of the nucleus to the cytoplasm where it attaches to a ribosome.

transfer RNA (tRNA) begins to read (translate) the information on the attached mRNA and corresponding to this information, fetches the appropriate amino acids from the pool of free amino acids in the cytoplasm, and brings them to the ribosome where they are linked into a chain or polymer forming the primary structure of the desired protein.

A gardener is concerned that her greenhouse is getting too hot from too much light, and seeks to shade her plants with colored t
valkas [14]
In getting her plants to grow, the gardener should use the color blue for her colored translucent sheets. The reason for this is because it will be absorbed by the plants, causing them to get the light absorption that they so desperately need. Other colors, such as green, are absorbed into plants (as can be observed by their green colors), and thus they do not absorb the light through this color.

The brothers pictured below are identical twins. mc015-1.jpg The boys in this picture look alike because their bodies contain id
son4ous [18]

The fusion of the sperm with the egg results in the formation of a zygote that develops into a new offspring. Twins refers to the two offspring which are a result of the same pregnancy. They are of two types. Monozygotic twins are a result of the single zygote (formed by the fusion of one egg with a single sperm) spiltting into two embryos forming the identical twins. Dizygotic twins are a result of two eggs fertilized with two different sperms forming the fraternal twins.

Identical twins are genetically simliar. The genetic material is derived from the same embryo and thus, the DNA of the identical twins are nearly identical. The spilitting of the embryo formed results in the separation of the same genetic material or identical DNA getting incorporated into the twins making them look alike in majority of the cases.
