Answer:

Now looking into the data provide we can analyze the results obtained by the student to record the data. And can point out the possible mistakes the student has done while recording the data.

Explanation:

A- As the data collected must be arranged in an increasing order but this is not a huge blunder as the data must have some kind of tags to understand it well.

B- Yes, this is a mistake as one should always denote units to the values recorded.

C- Yes if the distance measured is of high value then millimeters might not be the best option to go for we usually use kilometers to represent values for long distances.

D- No,it is not necessary that we should always represent speed in mph.

E- Using two units might confuse a person but its OK to use them because one can always obtain the desired value by exchanging and mathematical calculations.

<u>So the option B and C are the best one to chose from</u>

prohojiy [21]

Answer:

The statement that best explains the mechanisms of inheritance of gene "The allele for blue is an X-linked dominant allele because there are no blue male offspring in cross 2."

Explanation:

The mechanism for inheritance of gene is the condition, in which the mutation when happens in one allele and cause the effect in the relevant phenotype. Similar inheritance will also be seen when the mutated allele will produce new type of the protein which will have deletorious effect on the normal function of the cell. In case of the single gene, autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive, X-linked dominant, X- linked recessive and mitochondrial are modes of inheritance.

The r group of an amino acid would need to have what characteristic to be located in a cell membrane?
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

The R group should have the ability to form hydrogen bonds.

The R-group take a lot of different chemical forms and can be acidic, basic, polar or non polar. Amino acids that are either acidic or basic consequently have either positive or negative charge. These types of R-groups are stabilized when surrounded by water.

20 POINTSS!!!!
Ahat [919]

Answer:

The innate or nonspecific immune system includes two lines of defense in the human body. Non-specific means that it does not act on the specific pathogen. It works equally to keep all types of pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, parasites et cetera out of the body.

The first line of defense includes physical barrier which prevents the entry of pathogens into the body. It includes skin, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, cilia, nasopharynx, eyelashes, and body hairs.

It also includes chemical barriers such as mucus, gastric acid, bile, tears, sweat,  and saliva.

The second line of defense includes anti-inflammatory responses, fever, and nonspecific cellular responses such as phagocytes, macrophages, complement system et cetera.

Thus, the virus has to pass physical, chemical, and nonspecific cellular responses of the body in order to infect the body.

vodka [1.7K]

Answer:

<em><u>What does she need from the food she ate and the air she breathes so that she can go on her run? </u></em>

A. Rosa needs carbohydrates rich food (bread) to carry out her jogging activity. Protein-rich food before exercise is not recommended unless she is on a weight loss program (diet plan).

B. Rosa needs oxygen to perform aerobic respiration, which is required for maximum release of energy (36 molecules per reaction run). Anaerobic reactions yield less energy (2 molecules of ATP per reaction run) and are not recommended.

<em><u>How do Rosa's body systems work together to get the molecules she needs into her cells?</u></em>

Rosa's body cells need carbohydrates (glucose) and oxygen to perform aerobic respiration for the release of maximum energy. The glucose and oxygen molecules are provided to the cells via diffusion into the bloodstream. During exercise/jogging, complex molecules of carbohydrates such as starch (present in bread) are broken down into simple molecules (glucose) which are diffused into the blood. Likewise, a high amount of oxygen is provided to the body's cells via diffusion in blood, which is carried out by the faster movement of lungs and heart. The combined action results in the supply of both types of molecules to enter the cell where mitochondria use these substrates to produce energy molecules (ATPs).

<em><u>How do hair cells use these molecules to release energy for her body to run?</u></em>

The substrates (glucose and oxygen) enters the bloodstream and then taken up to the cell. Then they are provided to the mitochondria for the release of energy in the form of ATP. This is why mitochondria are known as the powerhouse of the cells. Within the cell, energy is released in a three-step process, i.e. glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. Here glucose reacts with oxygen. In the end, aerobic respiration per reaction run produces 36 molecules of ATP which are sufficient to meet intensive energy needs. During excrcise, the supply of oxygen and glucose is also faster due to faster lungs and heart actions.

PS: Anaerobic respiration cannot meet energy demands faster because the reaction produces only 2 ATP molecules per reaction run.
