Answer:

The sprinkler must rotate by an angle of 107.48°.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Area of strawberry patch( in shape of sector)  = 1500 square yards

Radius of circle = 40 yards

To find angle through which the sprinkler should rotate.

Solution.

In order to find the angle of rotation of sprinkler, we will apply the area of sector formula.

Area\ of\ sector\ = \frac{\theta}{360}\times \pi r^2

where \theta is the angle of the sector formed and r is radius of the circle.

Thus, we can plugin the given values to find \theta which would be the angle of rotation.

1500 = \frac{\theta}{360}\times \pi (40)^2

Taking \pi=3.14

1500 = \frac{\theta}{360}\times \ (3.14) (40)^2

1500 = \frac{\theta}{360}\times 5024

Dividing both sides by 5024.

\frac{1500}{5024} = \frac{\theta}{360}\times 5024\div 5024

Multiplying both sides by 360.

\frac{1500\times 360}{5024} =\frac{\theta}{360}\times 360

107.48=\theta

∴ \theta= 107.48\°

Angle of rotation of sprinkler = 107.48°

Factor the polynomial expression 15x^2 - 2x - 8
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

(3 x + 2) (5 x - 4)

Step-by-step explanation:

Factor the following:

15 x^2 - 2 x - 8

Factor the quadratic 15 x^2 - 2 x - 8. The coefficient of x^2 is 15 and the constant term is -8. The product of 15 and -8 is -120. The factors of -120 which sum to -2 are 10 and -12. So 15 x^2 - 2 x - 8 = 15 x^2 - 12 x + 10 x - 8 = 5 x (3 x + 2) - 4 (3 x + 2):

5 x (3 x + 2) - 4 (3 x + 2)

Factor 3 x + 2 from 5 x (3 x + 2) - 4 (3 x + 2):

Answer: (3 x + 2) (5 x - 4)

4 and 5 are complements, and 1 and 5 are complements. By the congruent complements theorem, which angle is congruent to 4? 1 2 3
Zepler [3.9K]
The theorem tells you angles complementary to the same angle are congruent. Both 4 and 1 are complementary to 5, so 4 and 1 are congruent.

The angle congruent to 4 is 1.

Members of a school club are buying matching shirts. They know at least 25 members will get a shirt. Long-sleeved shirts are $10
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

Maximum number of long sleeved shirt that can be purchase is, 8

and

Minimum number of long sleeved shirt that can be purchased is, 0

Step-by-step explanation:

let y represents the number of short sleeves  and x represents the number of long sleeves.

As per the given condition:

Members of a school club are buying matching shirts. They know at least 25 members will get a shirt.

we have;

x+y\geq 25              or

y\geq 25 -x    ....[1]

Since, long sleeves shirt are $ 10 each and short sleeves shirt are $ 5 each.

then;

Total cost of long sleeves is 10x and

the total cost of short sleeves is 5y

Also; the club can spend no more than $ 165

then;

10x+5y\leq 165

 5y\leq 165 -10x or

y\leq 33-2x ......[2]

Solving the inequality equation with the graph :

Plot equation [1] and [2]; we get the maximum at point (8 , 17)

so, x= 8.

If we take minimum value of x =0 then y is between 25 and 33.

so, the solution area is between the lines to the left of where the lines intersect.

Therefore, the maximum number of long sleeved shirts can be purchased is 8 and the minimum number of long sleeved shirt can be purchased is 0
