Answer:

a. increased by 20%

Explanation:

Productivity is measured by total output/ inputs used

For Buckeye brewing, productivity in 2011 will be.

Units produced is 1000,

inputs of labor used =  10 hours  x 8 workers x 365 days

= 10 x 8 x 365

=29,200 hours

productivity = 1000/ 29,200

=0.034 units per day

In 2012, productivity will be : units produced equal 960

inputs of labor used = 8 x 8 x  365= 23 360

productivity = 960/ 23 360= 0.041 units per day

the difference in productivity between 2011 and 2012

= 0.041 - 0.034

=0.007 increase in productivity

percentage increase

= 0.007/0.034 x 100

=0.20 X 100

=20%

Explanation:

According to  amended S-1 filed November 4, 2013, the estimated amounts of net proceeds to be received by the company after the offering, excluding and including the over-allotment option is $1.62billion or approximately $1.86billion if the underwriters fully exercise their option to purchase additional stock. The standard initial public offering price is assumed to be $24 per share.

Which of the following describes an externality and which does not? Explain the difference. a. A policy of restricted coffee ex
luda_lava [24]

Answer: The correct answer is "A. Choice (b) describes an externality. The advertising blimp imposes a cost on the motorist that is not accounted for in the market price of advertising. The restriction on coffee exports has market effects, which are not externalities. ".

Explanation: Choice (b) describes an externality. The advertising blimp imposes a cost on the motorist that is not accounted for in the market price of advertising. The restriction on coffee exports has market effects, which are not externalities.

An externality is a situation in which the costs or benefits of producing or consuming a good or service are not reflected in its market price despite having an external impact.

In case A, the situation is reflected in the market price, while in case B, the external situation, despite having an impact, does not affect the market price.

Casa Del Sol Property Development Company is refurbishing a 200-unit condominium complex at a cost of $1,875,000. It expects tha
Elis [28]

Answer:

In order to find IRR we have to set the present value of all cash flows to 0,

IRR is the rate at which if we discount the payments the NPV (net present value) will be 0

-1875000+

415,350/(1+IRR)

415,350/(1+IRR)^2

415,350/(1+IRR)^3

415,350/(1+IRR)^4

415,350/(1+IRR)^5

415,350/(1+IRR)^6

415,350/(1+IRR)^7

Now we can use trial and error to see at what rate will the npv be

IRR= 12.35%

Another simple way of doing is using the cash flow function of a financial calculator and input these values.

CF0=1875000

C01=415,350

C02=415,350

C03=415,350

C04=415,350

C05=415,350

C06=415,350

C07=415,350

A project requires an initial fixed asset investment of $148,000, has annual fixed costs of $39,800, a contribution margin of $1
svetlana [45]

Answer:

The firm needs to sale for 5,708 units to break even finnancially.

Explanation:

<u>We convert the fixed asset investment into an annuity:</u>

PV \div \frac{1-(1+r)^{-time} }{rate} = C\\

PV 148,000

time 3

rate 0.15

148000 \div \frac{1-(1+0.15)^{-3} }{0.15} = C\\

C  $ 64,820.590

Now, the amount above the annual fixed cost of 39,800 will be considered a gain for tax purposes, we need to increase it by 21% o give the sales before taxes.

before taxes target contribution:

64,820.59 / 1.20 = 54,017.16

We also have a depreciation component which generates a tax shield:

(148,000 / 3) x 21% = (10,360)

<em>Now, we solve for the break even point of the sum of this components:</em>

39,800 + 54,017.16 - 10,360= 83,457.16‬ dollars

Each units generates 14.62 dollars we divide and obtain the sales per year in untis:

83,457.16 / 14.62 = 5.708,42
