Which element of Endgame helps establish the idea of circularity?
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Answer:

C). Beckett begins with the idea of endings.

Explanation:

'Endgame' by Samuel Beckett works upon the existentialist philosophy and belongs to the 'theater of absurd.' It is often considered as the follow up of Beckett's classic work 'Waiting for Godot.'

As per the question, the play authorizes the idea of circularity as the play begins and ends on the same note i.e. 'intertwining of beginning and end.' It is based upon the key idea of 'hopelessness' and the characters are endlessly waiting for 'nothing' but death. Clove internally feels 'he need to live' and plans of leaving but could not and goes back to the same situation(reflects absurdity and nothingness). Thus, the entire play moves around this very idea and hence, option C is the correct answer.

_____ is a characteristic of realism. honest portrayal exaggeration melodrama romanticized life experience
melisa1 [442]

The correct option is “honest portrayal”. Realism is an artistic style that emerged in the 19th century in France, especially in painting and writing. The main purpose of realism is to portray accurately real life and places. Realism is opposed to the Romantic movement so the option “romanticized life experience” is not a characteristic of realism. Exaggeration and melodrama are not related to Realism since it depicts reality in a detailed and honest perspective.

Summarize the short story, "Throught the Tunnel"? PLEASE HELP!!!
dimulka [17.4K]
The correct answer is C. Jerry challenges himself for more.

Being a young boy, he has felt for a long time as if he was in charge of his mother and vice versa. Both of them are overprotective. Jerry seeks independence, yet he is afraid of abandoning his widowed mother. When he separates from her to go to another beach, he feels as if he was betraying her. But his urge to go his own way is stronger. True, he feels the peer pressure of those boys, and is afraid of not being able to beat the challenge they posed for him. But his real, deep and intimate urge is to challenge himself, and not compete with them. When he dives through that tunnel under the sea, he risks his life. But he doesn't give up, as that venture is his own, and he wants to experience it. Once he beat that challenge, he goes back to his mother, calm and serene, and doesn't even feel a need to tell her about it. He is more mature and independent now than he was at the beginning of the story.
