Answer:

Explanation:

In the Northwest-Corner Method, we first assign resources to the entity located at top-left corner of the box (north-west). Hence, in our case this entity would be the cell relating Source 1 to Destination 1.

The demand at destination 1 is only 15 units, whereas the source 1 can supply a maximum of 30 units. Thus 15 units will be supplied to destination 1 from source 1 to meet the demand.

Hence, the Source 1 - Destination 1 cell will be allocated 15 units by the North-West allocation method.

Cost related to this cell will be: 15(2) = $30.

P.S: Complete allocation to each source and destination is attached in the image.

A seller netted $55,000 at closing. if the seller paid costs of $1000 and an 8.5% commission, what was the sale price to the nea
Ulleksa [173]

Answer: The sale price to the nearest dollar was $61,202

We arrive at the answer as follows:

The term 'netted' refers to the seller's profits after deducting costs and commissions.

Hence we need to add back these amounts to arrive at the sale price.

                      Net Proceeds                                       $55,000

<u>Add:              Costs                                                          $1,000   </u>

                     Total                                                         $56,000

The commission is 8.5%; however commissions are quoted as a percentage of sales price.

Expressed in other words, if the sale price was 100, commissions were 8.5. That would mean that the total above would be the equivalent of 100 - 8.5 = 91.5

From this we can arrive at the sale price as follows:

Sales Price = \frac{56000 * 100}{91.5}

Sales Price = 61,202

Aleks04 [339]

Answer:

$27,900

Explanation:

The computation of adjusted cash balance is shown below:-

Adjusted cash balance = Balance at May 31 - bank service fees - NSF check

= $28,525 - $25 - $600

= $27,900

Therefore for computing the adjusted cash balance we simply deduct the bank service fee and NSF check from balance at may 31

Hence, the adjusted cash balance is $27,900

Two firms, Gene's Gloves and Wally's Wallets, have factories near a lake. Both firms use a chemical for tanning leather. Some of
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

Gene's Gloves was given the right to dump 5,000 gallons of harmful chemicals. It will need to spend $10,000 ($1 per gallon x 10,000 gallons) to substitute harmful chemicals for harmless chemicals in order to keep working.

Wally's Wallet was also given the right to dump 5,000 gallons of harmful chemicals. It will need $60,000 ($3 per gallon x 20,000 gallons) to treat those chemicals and turn them harmless in order to keep working.

If Gene can sell its right to dump 5,000 gallons to Wally, for a price higher than $5,000 but lower than $15,000, both companies would win:

Gene would spend $15,000 in harmless chemicals but it would have between $5,001 and $14,999 in revenue from the selling of "pollution rights".

Wally will spend $45,000 in treating harmful chemicals but it will have to pay Gene between $5,001 and $14,999 for buying their "pollution rights".
