Answer:

Pound of Apples = 2$

Pound of Banana = 2.75$

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

Yesterday Christopher sold 35 pounds of apples (35A) and 34 pounds of bananas (34B) for a total revenue of $163.5 (=163.50)

Today he sold 15 pounds of apples (15A) and 17 pounds of bananas (17B) for a total revenue of $76.75. (=76.75)

Now well, we have a system of the equation

35A+34B=163.50

15A+17B=76.75

we must eliminate A or B,  As you can see 34 is twice 17, so we multiply on both sides of the equation so as not to alter it

35A+34B=163.50                35A+34B=163.50

15A+17B=76.75 (-2) ⇒        <u>-30A-34B=-153.50</u>

                                              5A-0B = 10

5A=10 ⇒ A=10/5 ⇒ A=2

and B:

35(2)+34B=163.5 ⇒ 70+34B=163.5 ⇒ 34B=163.5-70

34B=93.5 = 93.5/34

B=2.75

A sociologist wants to determine if the life expectancy of people in africa is less than the life expectancy of people in asia.
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

The sample statistics are attached.

First, we need to determine the hypothesis.

The null hypothesis should be: H_{o} : u_{africa} \geq u_{asia}.

The alternative hypothesis should be: H_{a}: u_{africa}

The next step is about calculating the<em> t statistics </em>based on the samples. This <em>t test </em>will give the probability value or p-value, which determines if there's enough to reject the null hypothesis. The formula we need to use to find the t-value is: t=\frac{x_{1}-x_{2}  }{\sqrt{\frac{s_{1} ^{2} }{n_{1} } +\frac{s_{2} ^{2} }{n_{2} } } }

Replacing all the values into the formula, we have:

t=\frac{52.4-58.1}{\sqrt{\frac{(7.4)^{2} }{45}+\frac{(8.8)^{2} }{35}  } } \\t=\frac{-5.7}{\sqrt{1.2+2.2} } =\frac{-5.7}{1.8} =-3.2

Therefore, the t-value is -3.2.

Now, we using a level of significance of 0.01, and a degree of freedom (df) of 34, we use the t-table to find the p-value for this results. (df = N -1; in this case, we take the smaller sample, which is 35, giving us 34 of df).

Therefore, according to the table attached, <em>the p-value is less than 0.01,</em> which is less than our level of significance. This result means that the null hypothesis is rejected. In other words, there's enough evidence to say that <em>the life expectancy of people in Africa is less than the life of expectancy of people in Asia.</em>

For the month of June, Mae Green budgeted the following amounts: $180 for food, $475 for rent, $15 for transportation, $50 for i
ycow [4]
Question 1

Total budget = 180 + 475 + 15 + 50 + 65 + 25 + 150 + 30 = $990
Real spending = 182 + 475 + 12 + 65 + 68 + 12.50 + 150 + 36  = $1000.5

Mae Green didn't stay within the allocated budget

Question 2

Eleanor:
Income = 380.48
Spending = 16.50

Peter:
Income = 120 + 13.65 + 100 = 233.65

Total income = 233.65 + 380.48 - 16.50 = 597.63

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question 3

Total spent = 540 + 48.55 + 34.15 + 12.80 + 18.95 + 38.60 + 2 + 6.50 = 701.55

Question 4

Marie's new balance = 250.65 - [21.95+48.50+75.60] + 55 = $159.50

Therefore, the standard deviation of x-bar is approximately 1.23.

Is rectangle EFGH the result of a dilation of rectangle ABCD with a center of dilation at the origin? Why or why not?
motikmotik

Answer:

Option B is right answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Yes, it is true hat the rectangle EFGH is a result of dilation of rectangle ABCD with a center of dilation at the origin.

Also according to the given image, we can see that the scale factor of the dilation is greater than one as the new image is bigger than the pre-image.

Also, we can see is that ∠A=∠B=∠C=∠D=∠E=∠F=∠G=∠H=90°

So, we can say that option B is true -  Yes, because both figures are rectangles and all rectangles are similar.
