3. Bob, a minor, contracted with Pioneer Temporary Staffing Agency, LLC, an employment agency, for the agency to find a job for

him. The agency’s fee under the contract was $200. Bob started working for Big Job Opportunity, Inc as an interoffice mail carrier, a job that was referred through the contracting employment agency. Bob decided to quit his job position 3 months after he started his employment and while still a minor disaffirmed the contract with the employment agency. The agency sued Bob for the job placement fee. Can Bob disaffirm his contract with the employment agency? Please briefly explain each party’s position.

The agency's position is that Bob had already signed a contract, and that the contract included a placement fee due to the fact that Bob was able to find this job through the agency. On the other hand, the position that Bob would most likely argue is that he is a minor. As a minor, Bob is allowed to disaffirm his contract. Therefore, Bob is likely to win in this dispute.

Rios Co. makes drones and uses the variable cost approach in setting product prices. Its costs for producing 30,000 units follow
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer:

1. Variable cost per unit   = $150

2. Markup percentage     = 34.89%

3. Selling price                 = $202.33

Explanation:

Variable cost per unit = 70+40+25+15= $150

Fixed cost   =  670,000+ 305,000 +285,000= $1,260,000

Fixed cost per unit  =    1,260,000/30,000= $42

Profit per unit   =        <u>Targeted profit</u>

                               Targeted production unit

                          = <u>$310,000 </u>   =$10.33

                                30,000

Markup percenge =     <u>Fixed cost per unit + profit per unit</u>

                                          Variable cost per unit

                                =<u>$42+ $10.33</u>    =    <u>52.33 </u>* <u>100</u>   = 34.89%

                                       $150                   $150      1

Selling Price        =  Variable cost per unit + markup

                            =  $150+$42+$10.33

                             = $202.33

Variable cost-plus pricing is calculated by  determining variable costs per unit and adding mark-up which will cover fixed costs per unit and generate a targeted profit margin.

Molodets [167]

Answer:

$1,975 per year

Explanation:

The first step is to calculate Economic order quantity using the following formula:

Economic Order Quantity = √2DO / H

Here

A is Annual Demand which is 12,000 Units.

O is Ordering Cost per order $650 per order.

H is Holding or Carrying Cost per unit per year is $30 per unit per year.

By putting values, we have:

Economic Order Quantity = √(2 * 12,000 * $650) / 30 = 131.66 units

Now annual inventory holding costs can be calculated using the following formula:

Inventory Holding Cost = Average Inventory * Holding Cost

Here,

Average Inventory = EOQ /2 = 131.66 / 2 = 66 units

By putting values we have:

Annual Inventory Holding Cost = 66 * 20 = $1,975 per year

The Upper Tier has a current debt-equity ratio of .52 and a target debt-equity ratio of .45. The cost of floating equity is 9.5
Zielflug [23.3K]

Answer: 8.60%

Explanation:

Given the following :

Current debt-equity ratio = 0.52

Target debt-equity ratio = 0.45

Cost of floating equity = 9.5%

Floatation cost of debt = 6.6%

The Weighted average cost is calculated by finding the Weighted average cost of both debt and equity.

1 + 0.45 = 1.45

Weight of debt= 0.45/ 1.45 =0.31034

Weight * cost of debt

0.31034 × 6.6% = 2.0482758

Weight of equity = 1/1.45 = 0.6896551

Weight * cost of equity

0.6896551 × 9.5% = 6.5517241

Sum of both

(6.55 + 2.05) % = 8.60%
