Bible 800 – Unit 6: The Early Churches REPORT: THE EARLY CHURCH The church is 2000 years old. What has changed? What has remaine
valkas [14]

Early Christians were known to meet in Jerusalem where Christianity had its origins. Early apostles, teachers, and preachers of Christianity were actively travelling and spreading the word, or the "Great Commission", wherein after his resurrection Jesus instructed his followers to baptize all nations and gain new disciples.

Christianity spread orally through preaching from Jerusalem, through the Roman Empire, around the Mediterranean Sea, Greece, Africa, and Asia through practices such as baptism, keeping the Sabbath holy, communal meals, receiving Holy Communion (bread and wine, representing the memory of the body and blood of Christ). Early leaders of Christianity include Paul the Apostle, Saint Peter, and James- brother of Jesus. Many Christians faced problems such as religious persecution after complaints from neighboring pagans who were concerned with displeasing their gods.

The early church experienced the split of Christianity and Judaism and the moving of church centers to locations such as Constantinople/Byzantium, Anatolia, Rome, Antioch, and Alexandria. Jerusalem remains to be seen as "holy land". The modern church has experienced some changes such as the split of England and the creation of the Church of England, the importance of the Pope, the emergence of religious titles such as bishop, priest, and cardinal, the importance of denominations and the waxing importance of political and governmental influence.

When people ask questions such as, "if god is all-powerful, all-knowing, and just, then how is it possible that there is so much
mina [271]
They are asking about what is known as omnipotence. Omnipotence is an idea (typically in monotheistic religions) where a single being is all-powerful. This of course raises the aforementioned question of how a being could be both all-powerful and simultaneously be merciful in a world where suffering exists. A merciful and omnipotent god should be able and willing to prevent all suffering according to this idea.

Ganezh [65]

Answer:

Well, signs could be trust sources and dates since it was published. Like for example, Wikipedia isn’t reliable since you can edit others answers and can be used as an opinion. On the other hand, things like History.com or such resources are by a trusted site right? Strong writers use different sources to expand their knowledge etc. I’m not sure if I helped so, I’m sorry if I wasn’t of use

When all media sources report a simplified version of the environmental impact of hydraulic fracturing, with no effort to convey
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

The correct answer is B. Gatekeeping

Explanation:

Gatekeeping refers to the process in which information is summarized, filtered or reduced in a way is understood by a general audience usually because the information is published for the general public. This occurs in mass media as editors, reporters and almost all agents involved cannot include all the information and therefore need to decide on which information will be included and which would be excluded. This occurs in the case presented as all the media sources created a simplified version that can be understood by the general public rather than all the information and statistical data that would be too much to process for the public and too difficult for those without an academical background. Therefore in this case gatekeeping is occurring as information is reduced because it was going to be published for a broad audience.
