Answer:

Noah Jumps more than Han in 2 minutes.

Noah jumps <u>4</u> more than Han in 2 minutes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Noah can jump 40 times = 0.5 minutes.

Han can jump y times in x mins.

y=78x

We need to find who can jump more in 2 minutes and how much more.

Solution:

First we will find for Noah;

0.5 mins = 40 jumps

2 mins = Number of jumps in 2 mins.

Using Unitary method we get;

Number of jumps in 2 mins = \frac{40\times2}{0.5}=160

Hence Noah can jump 160 times in 2 minutes.

Now we will find for Han;

Han can jump y times in x mins.

y=78x

y ⇒ Number of Jumps

x ⇒ Number of minutes.

So to find the number of jumps in 2 minutes we will substitute the value of x as 2 in above equation we get;

y = 78x =78\times2 =156

Hence Han can jump 156 times in 2 minutes.

Comparing number of jumps of Noah and han we can say that;

Noah Jumps more than Han in 2 minutes.

Also Noah jumps <u>4</u> more than Han in 2 minutes.

Harrison has 30 cds in his music collection. If 40% of the cds are country and 30% are pop, how many are other types of music
Pavel [41]
Well you have to find out how many cd is 40% and 30%
30% = 30x.3=9
40% = 30x.4=16
now add 16 and 9
16+9=25 now subtract 25 from 30 and see that you have 5 cd of a different type of music to find that as a % divide 5 by 35 to get .14 I rounded it to the nearest hundreth now move the decimal over 2 spots to get 14%

Carolina is mowing lawns for a summer job. For every mowing job, she charges an initial fee plus \$6$6dollar sign, 6 for each ho
Margarita [4]

For this case, the first thing we must do is define variables.

We have then:

t: number of hours

F (t): total charge

We write the function that models the problem:

F (t) = 6t + b

Where,

b: represents an initial fee.

We must find the value of b.

For this, we use the following data:

Her total fee for a 4-hour job, for instance, is $ 32.

We have then:

32 = 6 (4) + b

From here, we clear the value of b:

32 = 24 + b

32-24 = b

b = 8

Then, the function that models the problem is:

F (t) = 6t + 8

Answer:

the function's formula is:

F (t) = 6t + 8

The commute time to work in the U.S. Has a bell shaped distribution with a population mean of 24.4 minutes and a population stan
Schach [20]

Answer:

Q1 a) 0.9545

b) 0.02275

c) 0.97725

Q2 z is approximately equal to -1.466

Step-by-step explanation:

Q1 The given information are;

The mean time to commute to work = 24.4 minutes

The standard deviation = 6.5 minutes

a) The z-score for 11.4 is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{x-\mu }{\sigma }

Where;

x = Observed value 11.4

μ = The mean = 24.4 minutes

σ = The standard deviation = 6.5 minutes

Z=\dfrac{11.4-24.4 }{6.5 } = -2

The z-score for 37.4 is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{37.4-24.4 }{6.5 } = 2

-2 < z < 2, which gives, from the z-score table;

The probability of commute time to be between 11.4 minutes and 37.4 minutes =  0.97725 - 0.02275 = 0.9545

b) From the z-score table, the probability that the commute time to be less than 11.4 minutes = The probability at z = -2 = 0.02275

c) From the z-score table, the probability that the commute time to be greater than 37.4 minutes = The probability at z = 2 = 0.97725

Q2 The the z-score that corresponds to a commute time of 15 minutes is given as follows;

Z=\dfrac{x-\mu }{\sigma }

Z=\dfrac{15-24.4 }{6.5 } = -\dfrac{94}{65} \approx -1.466
