Answer:

Option B, They can be passed on to offspring

Explanation:

As per the theory of Jean-Baptiste Lamarck, any individual that adopts certain physical changes within itself due to changing environmental conditions then it is sure that the newly oriented  physical changes will be passed on the offspring. These physical changes include - enlarging of an organ due to its frequent use, development of any new organ etc.

He called this theory as "Theory of Inheritance of Acquired Characteristics"

Hence, option B is correct

Answer:

The answer is B: They can be passed on to offspring.

Explanation:

According to Lamarckism, environment keeps changing and during the course any structure which is more in use increases in size and is inherited by the offspring whereas any structure which is not is use diminishes and is lost in the offspring. The most famous example is the neck length of giraffe. When the vegetation was not available at the ground level, giraffe started stretching its neck to feed on leaves high on trees. The led to increase in the length of neck and this feature passed on to the offspring.

Similarly a person with large muscles (like in wrestlers) will inherit the features to the offspring.

Lamarckism was later disproved by Darwin's theory of natural selection.
