Answer:

M1 allocated joint cost is $196,521.63

Explanation:

In calculating the joint cost allocated to product M1, the formula below comes handy:

M1 allocated joint cost=M1 net realizable value/total realizable value*total joint costs

Note that net realizable value id the selling price less further to  make the sales, since there is no further costs to be incurred in making the sale, the selling price ultimately is the net realizable value.

M1 net realizable value is $402,000

total realizable value is $763,000

total joint cost is $373,000

M1 allocated joint cost=$402,000/$763,000*$373,000

M1 allocated joint cost= $196,521.63

Answer:

Depreciation Expense = $16900

Explanation:

Using the units of production method. I will get the value of depreciation expense for the year 2. The units of production method calculate the value of depreciation using the formula is given below.

Depreciation expense = (Cost - Salvage value) / Total Units of Products x Units of production in second year.

Depreciation expense = ($87000 - $7000) / 400000 x 84500 = $16900

Wickland company will charge depreciation expense of $16900 using the Units of production method as during the second year of Wickland company depreciation expense is $16900.

dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

d. $1,080,000

Explanation:

Contribution per unit = Selling price per unit - Variable cost per unit

Contribution per unit = Selling price per unit - ( Direct Materials + Direct Labor + Variable Manufacturing Overhead + Variable Selling )

Contribution per unit = $160 - ($22 + $15+ $12 + $3)

Contribution per unit = $160 - $52

Contribution per unit = $108 per unit

Contribution margin for the next year = $108 per unit * 10,000

Contribution margin for the next year = $1,080,000

Nastasia [14]

Answer:

Annual depreciation (year 1)= $1,400

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Buying price= $36,000.

Useful units= 300,000 units of product.

Salvage value= $6,000

During its first year, the machine produces 14,000 units of product.

To calculate the depreciation expense for the first year under the units of production method, we need to use the following formula:

Annual depreciation= [(original cost - salvage value)/useful life of production in units]*units produced

Annual depreciation= [(36,000 - 6,000)/300,000]*14,000

Annual depreciation= 0.1*14,000= $1,400
