Glycolysis Shortcut Suppose you discovered a mutant yeast whose glycolytic pathway was shorter because of the presence of a new

Answer:

No.

Explanation:

As you may already know, glycolysis is an anaerobic metabolic pathway, that is, without the presence of oxygen, which is able to break down glycolysis into smaller molecules that are capable of providing energy (ATP) to living beings after a series coordinated and indispensable reactions.

In the question above, we can see that a cinetist discovered a mutant yeast that was able to perform glycolysis more quickly due to the presence of a certain enzyme. If we analyze the reaction that this enzyme is capable of generating, we can conclude that the shortening of glycolysis is not beneficial to the cell. This is because the amount of ATP produced anaerobically, by glycolysis, would be non-existent. Aerobic ATP production would also be affected, but on a small scale.

svetlana [45]

Answer:

This protein doesn't have a secondary structure (i.e., alpha helices or beta sheets), thereby it interacts with the specific molecule trough its loops

Explanation:

Protein loops may interact with diverse molecules including nucleic acids (RNA and DNA), proteins, signal molecules, etc. These protein sequences (loops) interact with both polar and non-polar head groups

shepuryov [24]

Answer:

look in textbook - concept 29.6

Explanation:

Drought stress can also cause stomata to close. A hormone called abscisic acid (ABA) is produced in roots and leaves in response to water deficiency and signals guard cells to close stomata. This response reduces wilting but also restricts CO2 absorption, thereby slowing photosynthesis. ABA also directly inhibits photosynthesis. Water availability is so tied to plant productivity not because water is needed as a substrate in photosynthesis but because freely available water allows plants to keep stomata open and take up more CO2.

abscisic acid (ABA): A plant hormone that slows growth, often antagonizing the actions of growth hormones. Two of its many effects are to promote seed dormancy and facilitate drought tolerance.

jekas [21]

Answer:

C- Crossing Over

Explanation:

Crossing over is essentially the gene shuffling and swapping around of genetic information.

A- is false because mitosis describes the building of nonsexual cells. So in terms of genetics, meiosis is the one you're looking for in this scenario.

B- Brothers are not clones.

D- Your parents had to have sex to produce a child. This is not Asexual.

Cilia and flagella bend because of _____. cilia and flagella bend because of _____. the quick inward movements of water by osmos
Ronch [10]

Answer;

-A motor protein called dynein

Cilia and flagella bend because of a motor protein called dynein.

Explanation;

-Both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells contain structures known as cilia and flagella. These extensions from the cell surface aid in cell movement. They also help to move substances around cells and direct the flow of substances along tracts.

-Cilia and flagella are formed from specialized groupings of microtubules called basal bodies. If the protrusions are short and numerous they are termed cilia. If they are longer and less numerous they are termed flagella.
