This question is incomplete. Here is the complete question:

Which one makes this sentence a metaphor?

Our land is full of things to eat.

a: like a giant garden

b: generous in giving us food to eat

c: rich with crops

d: a blanket of green, a bounty full of life.

Answer:

b: generous in giving us food to eat

Explanation:

A metaphor is a figure of speech consisting of asserting directly (it doesn't use the words “like” or “as”) that one thing is similar to another. Such comparison should not be taken literally and is often used to give the audience new insights about something or to make the writing more interesting and colorful. The new sentence “Our land is generous in giving us food to eat” is a metaphor because it implicitly compares the land to a human being when it gives it the quality of being generous and of giving us food while keeping the essence of the original sentence.

Answer: ''Full of things to eat''

Explanation: A metaphor is a literary expression or figure of speech that makes an object or an action implicit or gives it an implied meaning. It is also a word, expression or phrase that has a hidden or indirect comparison between two unrelated things but at the same time share some characteristics . By indirect comparison it means that a word or phrase refers to something else.

The phrase ''our land full of things to eat'' does not literary mean that the land is only full of things to eat but is a metaphorical expression which means that there is abundance of food or things to eat with different varieties of things to eat.

prisoha [69]

Free verse was a popular poetic form during the Romantic period mainly because Romanticism rejected structure and established customs, in favor of individualism and creativity.

Free verse is a type of poem that does not follow any established form like the use of rhyme, rhythm, stanzas, etc. Participants of this type of of poem usually write in any form they want to, without structure.

As a result of this, we can see that during the Romantic period, the poets then adapted the free verse so that they could write the way they like.

Therefore, the correct answer is option C

Analyze the following passage from Daisy Miller and write an essay explaining in at least 750 words how this passage illuminates
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

The contrast between life and death becomes prominent towards the end of the story. This story ending is not a very happy ending but a realistic one. “ 'She gave me a message: she told me to tell you. She told me to tell you that she never was engaged to that handsome Italian. I am sure I am very glad; Mr. Giovanelli hasn't been near us since she was taken ill. I thought he was so much of a gentleman; but I don't call that very polite!’ ” (James 448). This is very sad to hear if you are in Winterbourne’s position. He really loved her and she loved him but she was playing with his heart. Also, the fact that Mr. Giovanelli did not come around anymore shows his intentions were not the same as Winterbourne’s. Love and death is a sensitive subject that shows throughout the story and never fails to add a realness and an emotional standpoint to a story. These contrasts are what makes the story interesting and keep the readers on the edge of their seats. If these contrasts were solved or there were no conflicts would the story be as good? The story would possibly be completely different. If Daisy were not as spontaneous and flirtatious it would be safe to say her and Winterbourne could have had a life together. If American and European cultures were not as opposing would their even be any conflicts to begin with? These questions arise as contrasts are thought of as ideas are contrasted.
