Answer:

Copernicus developed his model considering that the sun is a fixed point and planets rotate around the sun in the solar system. This is why he used the term "heliocentric" which means sun-centred. His model was not accepted by ancient philosophers because they said (1) if Earth is rotating, why we cannot feel the motion of Earth, and (2) if Earth is orbiting the sun, then the positions should be different when it is on opposite side of sun (parallax effect).

what types of minerals are good conductors of electricity, are strong and can be formed into various shaped and sized products w
Sidana [21]

Minerals which are good conductors of electricity are described below.

Explanation:

  • metals tend to be highly efficient conductors of heat and electricity. The vast majority of elements on the periodic table are metals, and most of these fall into one of five families: alkali metals; alkaline earth metals; the very large transition metals family; and the inner transition metal families, known as the lanthanides and actinides.
  • Metals are lustrous or shiny in appearance, and malleable or ductile, meaning that they can be molded into different shapes without breaking. Despite their ductility, metals are extremely durable and have high melting and boiling points. They are excellent conductors of heat and electricity, and tend to form positive ions by losing electrons.

"Sunlight is required for plant growth. When light energy is absorbed by a leaf, after a series of chemical reactions, the light
Dima020 [189]

Answer:

TRUE

Explanation:

The green plants have green pigments present on their leaves, which are commonly known as chlorophyll. This chlorophyll pigments have the ability to absorb the necessary amount of sunlight, that is required to carry out the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis usually refers to the process where the green plants can synthesize their own food in the presence of sunlight, water (H₂O), and carbon dioxide (CO₂), and in return, it liberates food (glucose) and oxygen (O₂) that is essential for the survival of all living organisms.

The reaction that takes place during the time of photosynthesis is given below-

6CO₂ + 6H₂O → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

This process converts light energy into chemical energy, that is stored in the molecules of glucose.

Hence, the above statement is TRUE.

How does the structure of a type of human tissue relate to its function in the body?
Illusion [34]
I'll give the example of muscle tissue. The arrangement of cells in muscle tissue allows for contraction and relaxation with elasticity, as the tissue is smooth. The answer will be different depending on which type of tissue you are looking at.

Explain how cyanide caused Jared’s symptoms (e.g., muscle weakness).
xenn [34]

Answer:

Cyanide may cause muscle weakness because tissues are not able to use oxygen for cellular respiration

Explanation:

Cyanide is a highly toxic compound that inhibits cellular respiration by inactivating cytochrome oxidase in mitochondria, which is a key enzyme responsible for oxidative metabolism and energy production. Thus, cyanide consumption decreases the utilization of oxygen by muscle cells, thereby causing weakness. The symptoms of cyanide poisoning include, among others, weakness, malaise, visual disturbances, muscle pains, etc.
