Is this a run-on sentence?

English
1 answer:

Answer:

Yes, technically.

Explanation:

A trick to try is saying the entire sentence out loud at a moderate pace in one breath. If you find yourself running out of breath or it's difficult to finish then it is more than likely a run on sentence.

Identify examples of the following rhetorical strategies in paragraph 13, and explain their effect___________.
ANEK [815]

Answer:

The answers are explained below. Paragraph 13 isn't available.

Explanation:

A rhetorical question is a question asked to create a dramatic effect or to make a point rather than to get an answer, for example Is the pope Catholic? or Can fish swim?

Sentence variety refers to varying the length and structure of sentences in a composition to avoid monotony. Pacing is a stylistic device that shows how fast a story unfolds. Both can help the writer add emphasis to a specific part of the composition.

An analogy is a type of comparison between two things, usually to explain something, i.e. "as light as a feather."

An allusion is an expression to call something to mind, but it is not mentioned explicitly, for example, Don't be a Romeo, in reference to Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet."

An imperative sentence gives instructions or advice and expresses a suggestion, command, order, or direction. For example Don't do that!

He is a liar and so you need not believe ( noun clause)
S_A_V [24]

As mentioned in the comments, this question is about completing the sentence with a noun clause.

Answer:

He is a liar and so you need not believe what he says.

Explanation:

A noun clause is a dependent clause that functions as a noun in a sentence. That means it can function as subject, object of a verb or of a preposition, or a predicate nominative. Noun clauses begin with words such as what, whatever, when, which, how etc.

Having that in mind, I will provide a couple of possible answers:

- He is a liar and so you need not believe what he says.

- He is a liar and so you need not believe that he is truly sorry.

I think this would be to illustrate their massive discontent with things the way they are and to force the introduction of measures that severely quell existing liberties. There is no suggestion as to what is being discussed but it could be like the rise of the Nazis in Germany in WWII or of Mussolini in Italy perhaps.
