Kai has a see-through glass tank with air, plants, and animals that eat those plants. He sealed the tank so no material can get

into or out of it, but light can get in when the tank is not covered.
The light for the tank has been on all day, and Kai measured the carbon in the air and found that it is decreasing. How is carbon moving between the air and the living things in the tank? What is happening to the amount of carbon in living things? Explain your thinking as completely as possible.

Answer:

1. Carbon is moving from the living things in the tank into the air when they respirate, and from the air back into plants via photosynthesis

2. The amount of carbon in living things is increasing as plants use the carbon in the atmosphere, and animals eat the plants.

Explanation:

According to the question, a well sealed tank contains air, plants and animals. Since light can get into the tank, plants can perform photosynthesis. Living things in the tank release carbon in form of carbondioxide (CO2) gas through respiration. Plants then make use of this carbondioxide (CO2) to synthesize carbon-containing food (glucose) in the presence of sunlight. This process is called PHOTOSYNTHESIS.

Animals eat those plants and the stored carbon in the plants gets transferred to them. The animals release this carbon into the air again in the form of carbondioxide when they respire. Hence, carbon in the tank moves from the living things (respiration) into the air and back into plants (photosynthesis).

2. Since the amount of carbon in the air is decreasing, the carbon is being used by the living things in the tank. Plants absorb the carbon in the atmosphere for photosynthesis, then animals eat the plants to get the carbon. Therefore, the amount of carbon in the living things is increasing.

Why is the cell theory a theory and not a law?. A. The cell theory describes the natural world.. B. The cell theory explains the
anzhelika [568]

The correct answer is C.
Cell theory is a theory, not a law because the cell theory does not have enough support to become a law.
Cell theory is referred to as the history of scientific theory. All cells come from pre-existing cells, and that is the basic unit reproduction and a basic unit of all organisms. The three tenets of cell theory are,
1. cells arise from pre-existing cells.
2. The cell an organizational basic unit and structure in organisms.
3. All living organisms are composed of more or one cells. Cell theory did not become a law because the scientist who discovered it, did not give it a credit to become a law but a theory.
Since it did not have enough support to become a law.

Which of the following represents an isotope for lithium (73Li)?
NARA [144]

Answer:

The correct answer is - option b) 3Li .

Explanation:

Lithium that is occurring naturally have two isotopes that are stable one with an atomic mass of 7 and the other with an atomic mass of 6 both have the same atomic number.

In question 7(atomic mass) 3 (atomic number) is given and there is only two option have 3 atomic number with 3 b) 3.Li and d) 43Li. 4 atomic mass is not naturally occurring isotopes and as option b) has a no atomic mass so it would be the correct answer.

Thus, the correct answer is - option b) 3Li .

Black mice and tan mice are native species that are observed in a particular region. Human habitation in the region caused an in
4vir4ik [10]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

The correct answer would be that the availability of food resources for black mice and brown mice will decrease.

Since the food requirements of the black mice are the same as that of the invasive brown mice, the available food supply that used to be only for the black mice would now be shared by the two strains of mice. Hence, the available food for the two groups of mice will naturally decrease.

There is no sufficient information to conclude that the population of tan mice will decrease, hence, option B is incorrect.

The black mice and tan mice have different food requirements going by the information available in the illustration, hence, both cannot compete for food resources. Option C is, therefore, incorrect. In the same vein, option D is incorrect because the tan mice have different food requirements from the brown mice.

The only correct option is A.
