On January 1, 20x1, the ABC Corporation purchased 80% of the XYZ Company's voting stock for $3,000,000. The FMV of all of XYZ's

stock was $4,025,000, and XYZ's net assets had a book value of $2,850,000; the fair values of XYZ's assets are equal to their book values, with the exception of land, which is $625,000 greater than its book value. Assuming that ABC Corporation used the acquisition method to prepare its consolidated balance sheet, how much goodwill was reported on the January 1, 20X1 consolidated balance sheet assuming that the "full goodwill" method is used?

Answer: $440000

Explanation:

Fair market value = $4025000

Book value of asset = $2,850,000

Land value = $625,000

The value of the goodwill will be

(Fair market value - book of asset - land value) × 80%

= ($4,025,000 - $2,850,000 - $625,000) × 80%

= 550000 × 80%

= 550000 × 0.8

= $440,000

An arm loan has a 4.00% start rate, and it is time for the first adjustment to be made. it has a periodic cap of 1% and a lifeti
Lena [83]

The rate after its first adjustment is 5%. The ARM adjustment would be controlled by the periodic cap, because the "true rate" or "fully-indexed rate" is 6.00% (1%+5%). Because the periodic cap prevents the start rate from moving any more than 2% at any given adjustment, the first move can only go as high as 5.00%.

Compute net income for 2019 by comparing total equity amounts for these two years and using the following information: During 20
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

net income during 2019 = $109,045

Explanation:

total stockholder equity 2018 = assets - liabilities = $293,500 - $79,245 = $214,255

total stockholder equity 2019 = assets - liabilities = $497,512 - $177,212 = $320,300

change in equity from 2018 to 2019 = $106,045

$33,000 can be explained by additional capital invested, and the remaining  $73,045 corresponds to change in retained earnings

change in retained earnings = net income - dividends distributed

$73,045 = net income - $36,000

net income = $109,045
