In A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, Wollstonecraft contrasts her logic and reasoning with Rousseau’s work.
Mary Wollstonecraft’s “A Vindication of the Rights of Woman” is a step towards feminist philosophical work which speaks about the rights that the women have been deprived of. She explains in her work that how men and women are equal and hence should receive equal rights. She puts forward the issues of women as they were not allowed to work and had to be dependent on the male member of the family for their living. Her argument insisted on opening doors for women in the field of politics and medicines.

In Chapter I of the Narrative, Douglass explains that his master separates him from his mother soon after his birth. He explains the ways by which slave owners alter social bonds and the natural processes of life in order to transform men into slaves. This process begins at birth. Slave traders first remove a child from his family, and Douglass shows how this destroys the child’s support and sense of a personal history.
In this quotation, Douglass uses adjectives like “soothing” and “tender” to re-create the childhood he would have known if his mother had been present. His focus on the family structure and the awful moment of his mother’s death is typical of the conventions of nineteenth-century sentimental narratives. The destruction of family structure would have saddened readers and appeared to be a signal of the larger moral illnesses of the culture. Douglass, like many nineteenth-century authors, shows how social injustice can be expressed through the breakdown of a family structure. Douglass became deeply engaged with the abolitionist movement as both a writer and an orator.

the circumstances surrounding the occasion when the communication attempt was made.
These circumstances may be environmental, emotional, verbal-skill oriented,
phenomenological, or resulting from a host of conditions present within the individuals
who are attempting to relate.</span>
Two examples of code-switching are when Tan speaks "incorrect" or "broken" English to her mom in the first personal anecdote (when she tells her mom not to buy something), and when Tan realizes that the English she's using for a literary event is strange to use in front of her mother.
This code-switching reflects Tan's complex upbringing and Asian-American background, because, unlike many people who don't come from immigrant families or who don't speak several languages, she was acutely aware of certain sociolinguistic systems from an early age. For example, although Tan's mother's English makes sense to her, Tan would have to talk for her mother in several situations in order to be understood, to be taken more seriously, or even to be treated fairly.
