The effects of the Tennessee Valley Authority Act were the following. First, it developed the kind of infrastructure to take electrification to this region of the country. Private companies used to provide the power in this territory but charged too much money, so with the Tennessee Valley Authority Act of 1933 as part of the New Deal program created by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, offered many jobs and electric power at better prices to the people of Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. It also provided support to agriculture in the region.
